Sonic and the Black Knight aimed at casual gamers
February 13th, 2009 Posted in News, Posted by Valay, WiiSEGA has three significant titles planned for Wii owners coming up: The Conduit, MadWorld, and Sonic and the Black Knight. The Conduit and MadWorld will undoubtedly appeal to hardcore gamers, but Sonic and the Black Knight may be a different story. SEGA’s Tetsu Katano, who is part of the Sonic Team, said that the game is “aimed at a younger, more casual audience.”
“Sonic and the Black Knight is aimed at a younger, more casual audience. We’ve changed a lot of things, essentially. It’s thinking as children; approaching things from their point of view, thinking what they want to see. Sonic is kind of a cheeky, edgy character, and so we like seeing Sonic challenge new things all the time. The Wii is a big part of it, because it appeals to a wider range of people who maybe have not played a Sonic game before.”

And this is news because…? Sega’s been doing this crap for years, it’s why the franchise is ruined beyond repair.

Sega had to do this. Every single dev. is doing this. Thinking that when they make a Wii game its got to be simple and retarded. Problem is only Nintendo seem to be making games with both casual and core audiences satisfied. SMG and MK are the best examples of this.
