Rumor: Aliens: Colonial Marines “postponed indefinitely” on Wii U
February 13th, 2013 Posted in Podcast Stories, Posted by Brian, Rumors, Wii UWord on the street is that the Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines is in limbo. Kotaku received a tip in January stating that the game had been “postponed indefinitely” on Nintendo’s console. The publication did reach out to SEGA, but the publisher denied the speculation.
According to Kotaku editor Jason Schreier:
We heard from a tipster about a month ago that the Wii U version had been “postponed indefinitely.” We reached out to Sega, and they denied it. I’ll let you guys fill in the blanks there.
If this is true, I don’t think anyone would really care at this point. The Wii U probably wouldn’t be missing much either. It’s a shame how the game panned out…

although i partly agree that the Wii U won’t be missing much, however, Sega would need every cent they can get if they want to at least break even with this.
it’s possible they would just go with digital distribution to minimize additional cost of producing the actual disk, packaging, logistics and all. besides even if the reviews are bad, i’m seeing opinions from gamers who have enjoyed the game albeit its mediocrity.
