[Video Feature] Eggbusters – The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

March 11th, 2013 Posted in Features, Posted by Austin, Videos

Finally, I’ve taken on a couple of the numerous glitches in Ocarina of Time! Nothing too crazy going on this week, but we’ve got a couple of neat party tricks you can definitely show off to your friends.

Direct transcript of the directions after the break! Artwork courtesy of Andrew Nixon. :]

“First, enter Death Mountain Crater without your Goron Tunic. This allows the “death timer” to start. Next, walk towards any edge near lava. Now, wait until the timer turns red. Prepare to jump. As soon as there is 1-2 seconds left, jump. Once the timer runs out, your hearts should all disappear in mid-jump. Link will die on the lava, and will not reset. His fairy will come out at this point. Once the fairy is almost done with healing Link, start mashing the ocarina button. If timed right, he will pull out his ocarina.”

“Enter the top area of the Windmill by using the Longshot from outside on the nearest roof, the wooden peg is your target. Run up and grab the Cucco you should see there (sometimes it’s not around, if so just leave the area and return, hopefully he’ll be back). Now, holding the Cucco, get as far back as you can, facing the higher exit of this part of the Windmill, equip your Hover Boots, and run outside, immediately holding left to go around the corner of the Windmill. Aim yourself at a sort of bend in the wooden barrier, the second segment from the right. When you get as far as you can go, press B and Link will do a slash down at the fence, which should cause you to land beyond it or on top of it if you’ve done this correctly.”

    I think it’s pronounced like the sound a chicken make, so it would be ku-coo or something like that lol

    And the brown ocarina is the fairy ocarina ;)

    Really liking these videos Austin, keep up the good work.

    Also, what capture card do you use for these. I personally use the Elgato Game Capture HD which works really well with Wii U. I think they recently released an update to allow Wii, GameCube and N64 capture.

    Just one thing I think that could be improved, it would be nice if you could raise the volume of the game source in your videos a bit for two reasons, some glitches tend to play with the sound a bit which makes it interesting (as you found out in this video earlier) and video game music is just plain awesome :D

    @triforceguy: I will try to find a way to raise the game audio without compromising quality! I’m not directly capturing it, so I’ll have to experiment.

    I am using the Elgato as well.

    @Austin Awesome :D

    @Tiggy not so well I’m afraid, though I am proud to say I took the longest to become inactive lol

    Maybe during the summer when I have much more time, it’s hard when I’m working and at college :P

    Oh, that’s a shame :( I know the feeling though, I’ve got my GCSEs at the moment.
