Capcom: We have nothing against Wii and DS, systems supported appropriately
March 21st, 2009 Posted in DS, News, Posted by Valay, Wii“We support all systems appropriately. On PSP we’ve released more than 10 titles this generation, very high quality titles and there’s more coming. DS has been home our popular Megaman Starforce and Ace Attorney series. Wii has a slew of titles (more than we’ve released on 360/PS3 to date) and a massive effort in the form of Monster Hunter Tri. In addition there’s Spyborgs and Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles which are big efforts from us too.” – Christian Svensson, Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development
As far as the Wii goes, it’s important to remember that there have been some excellent games that have been released (Okami, Zack & Wiki, Resident Evil 4, Mega Man 9), not to mention that there are other titles on the way. As far as the DS goes, Capcom has supported the system a great deal with the Phoenix Wright and Mega Man titles.

Capcom is supporting the Wii and DS but what the people want (Or at least me) is a new streetfighter game or at least compilation of old street fighter titles on the wii. I know there is the new Capcom Vs title but that has yet to hit the states (If ever) and is tied up in legal.

The forgot the 1st rule on a Nintendo system, quality over quantity !!!! They can make a million games but if they suck or not what people want then its all useless !

The only game so far that I want to play from them is mh3. Just a little mad at them for not making a real re for the wii, but I would give them credit for the few quality titles that they produced that were mentioned above.

I have to disagree with giving them credit, lets look at the titles for Wii that were mentioned, Okami is a port of a PS2 game, RE4 was a port of a GC&PS2 game,MM9 was brought to all systems, so the only gem for Wii was Z&W and they didn’t market that at all, ports and multiplatform games show very little effort and lack originality, and I am not saying any of those games were bad, I’m just saying none were made for Wii specifically so I give them only partial credit for Z&W but nothing else, MH3 better be amazing, and they better bring that Capcom vs title over !

Capcom is now on thin ice as far as Wii owners are concerned.I’m still in shock in awe at the horrible remake/port that was Dead Rising: Chop til’ You Drop. The ball might be in their court with MH3 but I don’t think I’ll be passing my dollars over to them if they keep missing shots.I never thought I’d say this but they need to be more like Sega.

Capcom could care less about being on thin ice with wii owners. What big company really wants to make games for a 7th gen system that seems easily playable on its 6th generation little brother. Personally i like huge games with big levels and great graphics, and awesome online capabilities. Not these stupid short, quick multi-player games with horrible graphics…oh the motion control right..with its horrid response time and weak durability, especially compared to my ps3′s DS3, i mean..wow..my psp has a lot more worthwhile titles
Proud PS360 owner

The Wii has always had the shafted versions of games, whatever company makes them..From Madden to RE to SW TFU

I agree with other people, capcom know what it is doing on the wii and smartly targeting its demographic (casuals).
