Bunch of news from Reggie: GTA on Wii, Fatal Frame 4 in North America, much more

April 2nd, 2009 Posted in DS, News, Posted by Valay, Wii

“I’ve said this — and it may have been in one of your interviews –from the get-go. I as a gamer — and Nintendo as a company — would love to see a new ‘Grand Theft Auto’ on our home console. We think the volume opportunity is there…Our job is to create the installed base for that type of opportunity to be leveraged. It’s Take-Two and Rockstar’s opportunity to make the game…We support publishers with marketing investment. We don’t buy exclusivity.” – Reggie Fils-Aime

“It [Disaster: Day of Crisis] is not on our announcement plan.” - Reggie Fils-Aime

“We are not the publisher of that title [Fatal Frame 4] in the Americas. So I can’t comment on it… I don’t know if it has a publisher.” - Reggie Fils-Aime

“I think that’s a great question to ask me in early June at E3 [if this year's fall lineup will be better than last year's]…You know, one of the things that we know is that our loyal fans have huge expectations for us. When we give them the smallest little inkling, it gets exploded into expectations that are almost impossible to meet.” – Reggie Fils-Aime

“It [downloading games onto SD card] doesn’t change our core philosophy. And our philosophy around demos has always been: how much demo do you provide to have the consumer excited but not so much that all they do is play the demo? That’s been an ongoing Nintendo philosophy.” - Reggie Fils-Aime

Quite a bit of news here…But unfortunately, a lot of it is disappointing. No Disaster: Day of Crisis, no word on Fatal Frame 4, and it doesn’t look like the Wii will be receiving demos in the near future. But hey – At least Reggie wants GTA on Wii.

Shame about Fatal Frame 4. I think their lineup at E3 this year will be fantastic

If people want Fatal Frame 4 you know what to do, send Tecmo emails saying you want it, the same goes for GTA, send Rockstar/Take two emails people letting them know you really want these games, as for Disaster, that’s being held back by Nintendo of Japan, so you can try to write 2 them but I don’t know how much that’s going 2 work. The demo situation is them trying to to maximize profits, but they should let 3rd parties decided how much of a demo, if any is released !

am i the only person who doesn’t like gta? i mean, i played gta3 and it was fun b/c it was the first game that lets you do whatever you want, but when i picked up 4 last year, i wasn’t all that thrilled into the game and stopped playing it a week after. oh well.

Ya deberían traer el Disaster. La verdad se ve que es un buen juego, y si lo traen a un menor precio aunado a una buena campaña de marketing, es una venta segura de unos cuantos miles de unidades mas de las que ya lleva.

@ yeahyeah – Not everyone has to like every game, so that’s perfectly fine!

And thankfully I know Spanish, so what Dany is saying is that Disaster should be brought to North America, it’s a good game, and if it comes here at a lower price and has good marketing behind it, a few thousand units could be sold.

GTA on the Wii would be nice, Rockstar makes excellent games.

I don`t really care about Fatal Frame, though.
