Reggie: PS3 has challenges, Nintendo wants to be better than Xbox Live

Nintendo’s President and COO of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Aime was recently asked about what worries him in terms of the competition. Fils-Aime commented on both the PS3 and 360, saying that the Sony has some challenges with the PS3 and that Nintendo looks to see what can be done to be better than Xbox Live.

“What worries me, if I would focus in on Microsoft, we’ve always looked at what they’ve been able to do from an Xbox Live standpoint and we constantly want to say, ‘What can we do to be better than Xbox Live?’…It’s a little hard [to say something nice about the PS3]…They’ve got some great games that they’ve been able to bring out, they’ve been able to get some fantastic content. But, you know, you look at the results and clearly they’ve got some challenges.”

    Wow, I had no idea Reggie was such a douche-tard. Nothing nice about the PS3? How about you actually enable an online system not just to peddle your old games but so people can actually play each other.

    While on that, make games, not gaymes. I can count on 1 hand Nintendo has released in 3 years that was great and would actually make me want to pick up the gamecube 1.5 but its still not good enough.

    Reggie is just mad his shovel-ware box sales are slowing.

    Ok , I dont think friend codes are gong to be better than xbox live in any sense. nintendo cant even give a solid, private voice chat system going on so…….i dont know nintendo you guys practically have to make a new system to be better than xbox live.

    lol you guys are such clowns, PS3 has like a handful of good games. PS3 is absolute crap…getting the inferior verions of lterally at least 90% of games since day one. Think about that.

    We don’t even know all the 360′s exlcusives yet for this year but WHO EVEN CARES about Uncharted 2, Infamous and Heavy Rain lol!

    NO ONE!!! Just like no one bought wannabe Xbox shooter Killzone 2.

    PS3 is a flop. Period and Reggie knows it.

    360 lyfescycle is up they r working on the next system, better be ready to dropp more money, while we will b playing all xbox games commin and exclusives on the PS3!

Because Microsoft themselves stated that they are focusing more on the casual market this year. IDIOT!!! No true hardcore gamer wants any more casual games. If they did they would get a wii.     ^ to the xbot up there….. ps3 is the most powerful console ever made… but since the 360 rushed out 1 year early… ps3 is under-rated and everyone got 360…. the wii is just there selling systems cuz its cheap that grandmoms play with their grandchildren…. every time i turn on my 360 i get nervous IT WILL RROD…. so i put it back in the box in a place where it wont destroy itself and save it for gears of war 3….. i can on my ps3 without a care in the world and play MGO, Killzone 2, LBP, Resistance 2, and Warhawk…. games microsoft and fanboys like u dream of having so shut ur damn mouth

    To Coolbeans:

    *newsflash* Killzone 2 with all its graphical splendor IS NOT selling very well, so I doubt it will outsell any of the 360′s high profile titles (whatever they may be.) Sony poorly advertised one of the most anticipated titles this year, which is a consistent error with sony. I do think Uncharted 2 will sell extremely well (I will be buying a copy,) and it remains to be seen how well Heavy Rain will sell.

    lol reggie. the piece of crap known as wii will never surpass xbox live. wii has absolutely nothing worth noting coming out anytime soon while the PS360 has been churning out AAA titles every month. PS3 has the highest rated exclusive games and the wii has a two year old pos. nintendo needs go out of business and stop trying to ruin the game industry with their casual crap.

    Having a powerful system isn’t everything? Look at the wii. Although, the games aren’t very good it is outselling the “powerful” PS3. Everyone on these post should enjoy what systems and games.

    What is the problem with the friendcodes? I fail to see the bad part about it.
    It take like 5 seconds to send it to a friend and 10 seconds to enter it in the Wii. Sure it could have been done better with the same friendcode for all games, but still…. and if u don’t have friends there is always the standard “play with anyone”.

    i dont think making better internet for the nintendo will do any good . people dont tend to play nintendo to much . most of my friends dont seem to play the wii much they like the other consoles better i think people look at the wii as a gimmick.

    First of all, the guy is the president of Nintendo so his shallow comments about the PS3 are pointless and should be ignored by everyone except Wii owners who are trying to convince themselves that the Wii is “wicked awesome.” Second, thanks to Kyle who just helped reveal that most of the posters here are PS3 fanboys. Wake up you idiots! None of us are getting paid by Microsoft or Sony to support their systems. So relax and play whatever suits you best.

    nintendo have no fuken hope of ever being as good as xbox live or even the psn for that matter speaking as someone who has all the machines nintendos online presence is so appallingly lame that in the year and a half i regularly played mt wii i only had two games online capable and then i needed to f*** around with shitbox freind codes. the download service is very overpriced 15au dollars for a n64 game is fuken bullshit. sorry reggie you are a total f*** head nintendo needs to do one thing and that is throw a shitload of there insane profits at capcom and get resident evil5 not the on rails crap we get. nintendo let me down bad i still play my wii occassionally but the ps3 sits in the lounge now
