Official Nintendo Magazine rates The Conduit
June 4th, 2009 Posted in News, Posted by Valay, WiiNintendo Power’s review of The Conduit was revealed a few weeks ago, which was the first score to be released. Now the UK Official Nintendo Magazine has provided their own review of the title. ONM praised the game for its “varied, enjoyable weaponry” and “darting, nippy plot pacing.” At the same time, the publication believes The Conduit suffers from repetitiveness and a “dodgy grenade mechanic.” Ultimately, ONM gave the score a 76% (out of 100%) and said that the game is “Nowhere near classic status, but this is a welcome companion to Metroid Prime: Corruption.”

I played it at E3 and it felt solid. Looked great too.

I don’t see why all the reviews are bringing it down. It seems like a really solid title…

If graphics gets a 10, gameplay got an 8, tilt got a 6, sounds got a 7, then that makes that score. However by IGNs catogories:
Graphics 10
Presentation 9
Gameplay 8 (custom controls)
Sounds 8
Lasting appeal 8 (it has online multiplayer)
Than that’s still an 8.8, and I think it could get a 10 on presentation an 9 on gameplay an 9 on sounds and a 10 on lasting appeal making it an 9.7 Makes you wonder how these magazines rate the games…

ONM is unreliable. Giving Red Steel, MySims, Sonic and the Black Knight, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic games high praise, but being dumb on The Conduit?
Grenade mechanics is bad according to the magazine, yet many sites have stated how it feels nice to chuck a grenade with a flick of the nunchuck. Failure on ONM’s end to adequately address the control customisation offered by the game.
Another thing is that they haven’t touched on the multiplayer aspect of the game. It’ll be the best multiplayer experience thus far on the Wii yet ONM only bothered to put a trivia-like box on the side stating already publicised information about it.
ONM = fail.

I dunno how ONM could have complained about the Conduit’s controlls in any way, since they gave Sonic and the Black Knight a good score. That game blew, just hold up on the stick and occasionally press A or shake the wiimote. I rented it and returned it 10 mins later.
