Pachter: Wii to receive price cut this year
June 12th, 2009 Posted in News, Posted by Valay, Wii“Wii supply has finally exceeded demand, so we expect hardware sales to show year-over-year decreases for the first half of 2009. In order to hit its full-year Wii shipment forecast, we expect Nintendo to cut the price of the Wii before [the] holiday, likely to $199.99.” – Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter
I know that the Wii had a down month according to NPD data from last night, but I just don’t think Nintendo will cut the price of the system yet. MotionPlus just released, Wii Sports Resort comes out July, and they have New Super Mario Bros. for the holidays. And if all else fails, they could always bring home the black Wii.

Deff not going to happen, Nintendo will get all the cash they can come this holiday, maybe after the Christmas rush it could be possible but not before, that wouldn’t be a smart move, people are going to buy them regardless when the holidays come so why decrease your cash inflow?
