SEGA “seeing very strong week one sales” for The Conduit

July 10th, 2009 Posted in News, Posted by Valay, Wii

Since The Conduit released in North America, gamers have been predicting how well the game will sell, understanding that the performance of the game could impact developer and publisher decisions on the Wii in the future. This is SEGA’s third true hardcore Wii title this year and the results of the first two titles – MadWorld and House of the Dead: Overkill – were very disappointing. While we’ll have to wait for NPD numbers next week to understand just how well The Conduit has done so far, SEGA’s vice president of marketing Sean Ratcliffe has shared his opinion about the first week sales of the game. And luckily, the company seems happy thus far.

“…The game is already successful with us as the reviews have been pretty impressive. Overall the reviews have been strong, and though there will always be some naysayers we definitely feel we have been able to offer gamers the Wii experience we were looking for…Though it is still early days in the retail life of the game, we are seeing very strong week one sales and being the best shooter on the Wii means that we think we will see this game out there and selling well for a long time.”

I am deffinetly hoping and expecting good numbers for this game, everyone go out and pick this good title up if you already haven’t !

I agree with Captain. If you haven’t picked up by now, do yourself a favor and get it.

LOL Are you both serious? You want people to pick up this pile of crap? High Voltage do us all a favor and go out of the business! It is very disappointing that much more inventive and inspired MadWorld and HOTD: Overkill did worse than this dull, generic and low quality “game”.

LOL humbert. according to IGN the conduit outsold those two titles in 20 days!!!!!

plus if you find the conduit generic is because you did not play it well the story is so deep that it makes you google a couple of times and low quality ????? are blind the conduit have the best graphics on the wii period.

@ Humbert, ur entitled 2 ur opinion which I totally don’t agree with, and anyway I also have Madworld and it is also a very good game, you shouldn’t be comparing The Conduit with other FPS on all consoles, compare it to all the ones on Wii only and it by far blows the competition out of the water, the graphics and online play alone are top notch for a Wii FPS !!!!

MR.FORD hmmmm… Yes, a cheap knock off of a summer blockbuster plot is deep indeed. Have you seen it’s art design? Maybe it has the best graphics on Wii for those who haven’t played Super Mario galaxy and Metroid Prime 3.
Captain N, the problem is that there is not much competition in the genre on Wii. I really hope the game gets the sales it deserves, which equals flopping.
Let me not mention the “amazing” level design. The best part of the game. lol

Like I said it is because you did not play it well the story is a secret the theme of the game is that you must FIND the truth, it is not giving by you by anyone.

the game is not copied of any movie the game story has to do with niburu, free masons, with the fertile of cresents, and has well with many ancient stories and conpiracies.

Why would u want it to flop, this was a small developer who decided 2 invest everything they had 2 make a FPS that we haven’t seen on Wii yet, u make it seem like it was as bas as Farcry or Redsteel, you must be really focused on games like Halo 3 and other space shooters to say its generic, as 4 the other games like MP3 and Galaxy I also own both, both are not FPS, one is an FPA (first person adventure) the other an action/adventure.Both are great graphically as they should be, both are Nintendo made and they should know how 2 push their system 2 the extreme !!!

I want it to flop, because developers made a fuss out of nothing. Bad games deserve to flop, good games deserve to sell. The studio has got some good programmers, but their designers know nothing about what makes a good game. Also Conduit is as “good” as Red Steel. The difference is that these games are broken in different areas. Conduit has bad game design and good controls, Red Steel has bad controls and some decent ideas in terms of game design. You choose which one you like more.
