Modern Warfare 2 officially not heading to Wii

So much for the Modern Warfare 2 Wii rumors! In spite of the fact that Call of Duty: World at War has performed rather admirably on Nintendo’s system, Activision has outright confirmed that there are no plans to bring Modern Warfare 2 to the Wii. A representative provided Kotaku with this information, although no reason was given for the company’s decision. I’m sure that this news will leave many Nintendo fans disappointed – myself included. It’s just a shame that the game isn’t in development for the Wii considering how promising some of the previous rumors were.

    What a bummer. I love using the Wiimote and nunchuk for FPS games but this is where owning more than one systems helps. Still very disappointed though. Oh well.

    huge blow to the gut! hopefully some unknown developer will fill this void and make a wii exclusive military (current time) fps that is decent

    This is why many 3rd parties on Wii equal failure, they don’t take to the time to build their audience of if they start something they never finish it, this is another prime example why Nintendo made games sell more on Ninendo systems !!

    hey whats up! I just had to comment on this story I’ve been alternating playing the conduit and cod waw online and I really do like the guns in cod. I hope somehow it still comes out but that is just crazy. Out of all the systems the Wii has the most haters period. I’ve been reading up on mw2 on different forums and you wouldn’t believe the bashing the wii gets!

    Just keep fingers crossed and pray that HVS gets a lot of fan support and money too for their games that they will push further and grow larger to be able to create new IPs simultaneously. Then they’d have the staff and ability to give us a MW2 type game while also releasing Gladiator AC months apart. High Voltage is where our hopes need to be because we just aren’t going to get the love we deserve from these other developers.

    As a proud owner of all three consoles, I won’t be missing out on “Modern Warfare 2″. However, this kind of attitude towards the best selling system of this generation by developers is disappointing. They’ve had a few years to develop this game for all three systems and should have done so. Leaving out the Wii just doesn’t make sense to me.

    Someone should start a petition. I’m sure that the Modern Warfare in the name will double the audience and it’s actually good it will sell around 3 million. Activision says that they want it to be the most popular game of all time, so why not make it for wii. somebodys got to start a petition.

    I have been a nintendo fan for years. I grew up on it. When they introduced their next-gen consoles, I bought an xbox360. A game like call of duty, IMO, is made for hardcore gamers. Notwithstanding that wii owners aren’t hardcore players. Many games, and the gimmick of the chucks, and the motion play that the wii entails, leaves many with the notion that the wii is geared around children, not the mature genre who enjoy a good fps. If the fact that they are currently releasing cod4 for the wii, over a year after ps3 and xbox, doesn’t tell you that in no way would they release mw2 for said system, I’m sorry, you are just dilusional. No I’m not a wii badger, but the mere fact that when I think of wii, my kids come to mind, tells me that this system will not be an adequate foundation for yearly devotion due to it’s lack of mature intensive gaming. I like the wii, but it’s ol community doesn’t come close to xbox or ps3, and those factors is what made the cod franchise so popular on those systems. The wiicould not handle the level of online players AND keep it’s graphics and gameplay glitch free. It won’t happen unless nintendo jumps on the band wagon and upgrades their system in it’s entirety. Just my opinion. Happy gaming!

    i currently own a wii. no ps3 or 360. i use my wii for netflix and internet. i know LLLLLOOOOOTTTTTSSSSD of people who wold love mw2 for the wii. so why not make it for the wii!!!??? i can only play it at my friends house! so make it for the wii. u made it for the DS!!! so they should. and i may add they made a app for it on ths ipod touch & Ipone users!!! so they should make it for the wii!!!     I think that mw2 should be for wii. If not they could Up-date Cod WaW so it has more games. Also they should have added a Nazi Zombie mode to wii version of WaW.End of my rant.

    Damn. .

    MW was excellent on the wii. Better gameplay than the Xbox and PS’s. Although graphics suffered. . All the same, This is shame. .
