Sales results for The Conduit are in
July 16th, 2009 Posted in News, Posted by Valay, WiiSEGA stated last week that The Conduit saw “very strong week one sales.” But how has it performed according to the June NPD sales data? In the short time that the game was on the market, The Conduit sold 71,913 copies. Keep in mind that the title only had nine days of sales, as it released on June 23rd. This is a respectable start I suppose, but next month will probably provide a much better picture as to how just well The Conduit is really doing.

It’s got a ways to go before it is a good seller. I hope it sells well after a couple months.

This game will probably sell 4 a while just because it has a very good online multiplayer aspect

I am confident it will pick up momentum, it has already started!

Considering the slow burning sales trends commonplace with Wii games, this is definitely a good start.

It’s not selling as well as a few other titles, but it’s not bad for a new IP. I hope that sales continue to pick up as word of mouth gets out there.

So Madworld got less than that in almost like a whole month right?
By humbert on Jul 17, 2009

Wow, talk about being left out: Modern Warfare 2 anyone. Not to mention the fact Conduit quality is practically not even mediocre.

Given that most video games make the majority of their sales in the first 3 days, these are terrible numbers.

Judging by the mixed reviews from various gaming sites and magazines, it may not be surprising if the Conduit flops.
Ironically, the two places I trust the most for reviews seem to have noted different opinions on the controls-Gamespot seems pretty happy w/ how it came out, but Game Informer has stated that it doesn’t even come close to a standard dual-analog layout, and blames the Wii-mote’s design for this.

It’s ironic though-this actually has the best first month sales of any of Sega’s highly touted “Wii-exclusive 2009 trilogy” of hardcore games, despite having the worst scores on average.

If it didn’t look so last gen at best I am sure it would do better. I suppose it looks about as good as a Wii game can, I wish that was saying more but it really isn’t.

@Edgar: Not true at all. On the HD consoles, sure, but the Wii has a track record of most of its games – largely due to lackluster or a complete lack of televised advertising – making most of their sales over months following their release. We’ve seen numerous games fall flat on their face at release on the Wii, then proceed to sell steadily for months, eventually achieving profitability and in an ever-increasing number of cases, breaking a million.
The HD consoles’ sales trends are generally the opposite, with even the biggest games: higher initial sales, then they fall flat on their face, and even the biggest games drop off the charts rather quickly. Even Nintendo’s commented on the slow-burning nature of most Wii software sales.

Lets see how it is selling in a couple of months – that’s when we should start passing our judgment!
