Telltale dev: iPhone more powerful than Wii, DS and Wii are limited
July 29th, 2009 Posted in DS, News, Posted by Valay, WiiA developer over at the Telltale forums has caused a bit of controversy with some of his comments. A member who had recently downloaded the first chapter of Tales of Monkey Island, noting his dissatisfaction with the game, posted some big complaints relating to frame rate issues. A Telltale developer responded in the topic, but riled up a few Wii owners in the process by saying that “An iPhone is much more powerful than a Wii.”
“The voices and textures are the way they are because we’re limited to 40 megs for WiiWare titles. The PC versions of our games are usually 150+ megs, and most modern games range anywhere from 1-10 gigabytes or more. Talk to Nintendo about this one.
Frame rate issues will probably get sorted out eventually, but keep in mind that the Wii is just not a powerful console. An iPhone is much more powerful than a Wii, even.”
Later, in a response to a user saying that he used “strong words,” the developer said:
“And I stand by them. The Wii and DS are extremely underpowered and their popularity doesn’t remove the hardware limitations.”

i think he was just saying the truth.
reading from the forums of telltale, the guy was one of the developers of the game & knows what he’s talking about in reference to the technical capabilties of these products, the only problem was, they didnt release it on retail & chose to limit it to a downloadable content/wiiware which is the effects of lots of technical issues.

They should know by now that nintendo doesnt care about graphics, and they havent in a long time (not since sega died at least, lol). If they think its so bad, why even release anything on wii? Why? ITS MONEY. Like I said, dont kick them in the balls. They keep it up and there will not be a ep 2 of monkey island.

that concludes that wii is just a gimick.
real games are being released only on ps3 & 360 & wii is left with more mini games, i just hope that in the future nintendo doesnt continue this trend because with the experience of a wii owner who was not satisfied with titles released for having the console for 3years, i will invest more on an xbox rather getting lots of shovelware & low quality titles. getting nintendo console is good if your ok sticking with first party titles that even sometimes you cant call a true game developer.

real deal is a dope. Play RE4 on iphone, then on Wii. Can you play something on par with Galaxy on iphone? No. Conduit? No. Even something on par with say Punch Out or Madworld? No. Is real deal a brain dead troll? Yes.

“lots of shovelware & low quality titles”
These exist of course, but why buy them when there are plenty of decent games to play on the Wii? (not just 1st party)

can you even call the wii, a game console if it only released lets say, 5 quality games for a span of 3years? c’mon! how can you have fun with these titles for that long once you finish & replayed it for a week or two!

“5 quality games for a span of 3 years?”
You have slept the last three years, didn’t you?
By real deal on Jul 30, 2009
Yes with dreams seeing nintendo losing lots of their fans switching, craving and playing quality games on much powerful & limitless non nintendo consoles. Have you guys slept for the entire 5 years waiting for link to be in a zelda game again not even hearing him say any word or even a phrase, not mentioning mario saving peach again… Poor nintendo fans, playing the same recycled games over and over again, won’t you like to experience something new rather than fooling yourself that you would really lose weight once you step on that white board? Crap. Spend your hard earned money in to something that really works!
