Famitsu hardware sales (9/21 – 9/27)

DSi – 66,000
PS3 – 50,000
PSP – 20,000
Wii – 13,000
DS Lite – 10,000
PS2 – 3,500
Xbox 360 – 3,700

While the Wii’s numbers are expected due to the lack of any high-profile releases, I expect the numbers to rise once WiiFit Plus goes on sale in Japan (which is today there). Nice numbers for the DS which is the result of the strong Japanese preference for handheld systems and the popularity of Pokemon. I am at least surprised at the consistent numbers for the PS3 Slim, as I expected that they will fall week after week. It would need more than these numbers to catch up with the Wii in Japan.
