Monster Hunter 3 may be free of online fees outside of Japan
October 2nd, 2009 Posted in News, Posted by Valay, Wii“It’s something that we’re looking into at the moment and there are a few factors to consider. Firstly, Monster Hunter isn’t as popular in the West, so it might put people off. Secondly, Japan doesn’t have Friend Codes, so Capcom run all the servers and the monthly fee is essentially to pay for those costs.” – Chris Kramer, Capcom USA’s Senior Director of Communications and Community
To be honest, I’m not a fan of online fees at all. With that said, I’m sure that many gamers aren’t. If there are no additional charges for Monster Hunter 3, that’d be a huge plus in my book.

Deff needs to be free in America or it wont do well, add the friend codes and make it easy like Guitar Hero 5 or the Conduit

I guess im the one who disagrees with everyone, not having a fee to me means no dedicated server, which also means if anyone has played dbz online for wii just one for example the server is garbage.

I also forgot to mention when the the first monster hunter was out they closed the srvers down and people were still playing it.Yes free to play is nice but not at the cost of losing online play. From what i experienced they shut down the server because they wernt making money and yes partly because it is not as popular western side.
