This is the third time this year that Famitsu has given a game a 40/40 score. The number of 40/40 scores in the last several years casts a shadow of doubt on the credibility of Famitsu as a review source. Already, there are six games within two years that received this “perfect” score, many of them undeserving. It is getting absurd. This the same Famitsu that has cozy relationships with major Japanese publishers like Square-Enix (I would not be surprised that Final Fantasy XIII will be the next 40/40 game) which determines what games get hyped or receive the most coverage on the magazine. Please take Famitsu’s questionable reviews with a grain of salt.
