Infinity Ward community manager says Wii can’t deliver PS3/360 cinematic experiences

November 4th, 2009 Posted in News, Posted by Valay, Wii

“If we felt like we could deliver the cinematic experience we were going for on other platforms, then we would gladly move to that platform. Right now, we don’t think the Wii can deliver the exact experience that we’re doing. We like to be very equal across all platforms, and if it’s not equal then we won’t do it.” – Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling

Obviously, Infinity Ward will not be able to provide Wii owners with the same experience as the PS3/360 as far as graphics are concerned. However, I don’t believe that it’s extremely difficult to bring a similar overall experience to the Wii.

Outside of the screenshots that we saw of the title this is the first thing that we’re hearing about it in months, and what it sounds like to me is a developer who is already making excuses for because they can’t or won’t invest the time and money to really make this game shine (graphically speaking) on the Wii.

Infinity ward should take a lesson from titles like Monster Hunter 3, Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Muramasa and many other titles that break the stigma of “if it’s on the Wii then the graphics suck”. Bullshit.

This just sounds like a bad excuse to not port MW2.

I disagree, I think they wouldn’t have tried with this game if they didn’t think It’d work. Now they know for sure that the wii can’t handle the graphics required. Maybe they should do a cell shaded wii version instead

Well, I guess we’re gonna have to rely on Treyarch for all the porting duties of Call of Duty in the future. I think they would (and already had) do a decent job…

This is crap, you can deliver the cinematic experience, just not the graphics.
