The minor name change is due to the fact that in Japan, “extra large” is abbreviated as “LL,” not “XL” in the West.

I’d love to buy the brown one when it’s released in the UK, as I pretty much only play my DS/DSi at home anyway. So the bigger screens > portability for me.
Shame Nintendo don’t let you transfer purchased DSiWare (As well as VC and WiiWare, of course).
Oh well. Their mistake, their loss.
