Super Mario Kart, Smash Bros., and Pilotwings coming to the VC before year’s end

November 20th, 2009 Posted in News, Posted by Valay, Wii

There are still a number of classic Nintendo titles that have yet to be released on the Virtual Console. On Monday, however, the situation will begin to change. According to GameSpot, Super Mario Kart – the well-known SNES racer – will be included in the VC titles up for download. It’ll cost 800 points. Meanwhile, Super Smash Bros. and Pilotwings will also be hitting the service sometime this year (right around the holidays), although Nintendo did not share pricing details.

Right around the holidays?! Yeah I just knew that! ;)

Still I’m frankly disgusted that I’ve been waiting all year for SSB64; for you know me well enough to that I’ve stated in these comments sections long enough since then!
So you know me when I state the obvious like; NOA SCREWED their fanbase by making us wait all year long for SSB64!!! :(

That’s because clearly Japan had it begining of the year in January; on it’s anniversary… (WHY IT WASN’T OUT IN APRIL HERE ON IT’S ANNIVERSERY IS NINTENDO’S BIG OWN HUGE FAULT)!! And stupid Europe has had it since this summer in July!!! Why in GOD NAME WERE NINTENDO saving SSB64 for another milestone; that’s just plain STUPID!! :(

If anyone dares to brag back at me & say Nintendo actually did this to make us wait; you better have some strong emotional words to back them up! Because I won’t tollerate a bunch or hatred over this; since we all know we’ve been waiting for more first party titles like SSB64 to finally hit the VC in NA!! So agree with me when I say it’s innacusiable that we’ve been waiting this long!!! :(

Huh?The last time I check Smash Bros was on VC already. Or is this about the US VC?

Yeah this is about Na’s VC service dummy! :P
Clearly Nintendo messed up & decided to dump all their good first party VC games for a holiday 2009 lineup; but better late then never?! I still say SSB64 needed to come out months ago for hardcore USA Nintendo gamers; it was clearly a wrong move to hold onto it all of this time! :(

Hey, hey, hey. No need to call anyone a dummy. But anyway, yeah, in North America, we’re still waiting for Smash Bros.

He made a smiley face which invalidates the dummy comment.

Anyway, Im not sure what nintendo is doing with VC stuff, seems like they are milking it too slowly. I can understand N64 games, as the emulation can be buggy, like majoras mask was on gamecube.

I wish they would release some kinda statement as to why we dont have certain games, whether it is cause of emulation problems, or money issues due to sales or whatever. Maybe VC games are not selling well enough for them to bother working on releasing more?

They also need to be doing more new play control games, but there again, maybe the sales sucked. Windwaker and Mario Sunshine would be hits tho I think.

I totally agree @opiumx! At least someone understands! ;)

The uniqueness of a skill game is that the game’s outcome is predominantly determined by players
