Screenshots of New Super Mario Bros. Wii in 720p
November 29th, 2009 Posted in News, Posted by Valay, WiiBeing able to see Wii games displayed in 720p isn’t exactly a new idea thanks to the Dolphin emulator. Previously, we’ve shared screenshots of Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition and Dead Space Extraction in the different video resolution. Yet, even though Wii titles have been presented in 720p in the past, these shots of New Super Mario Bros. Wii look fantastic. You can check them out below.

A lot of people complain about the graphics, but they’re actually pretty good. The map screens, for instance, look like they’re out of Galaxy.

1- These shots are all 1080p, not 720p
2- Are there meant to be six unique shots? I just see the same three shots twice
3- This site has the most awful picture navigation ever;
Why do I have to click on a thumbnail, to get to a page with a thumbnail, then click on this second thumbnail to get to the actual image – and then I’m offered no navigation options, so I have to go back twice and repeat to see another?

Blah. I don’t mind 480p, but it looks shite after you’ve been playing your PS3 in 720p/1080p.
I do wonder though, is the person who does this stuff somehow improving the Anti-Aliasing? NSMBWii has lots of jaggies on my TV in 480p, surely these 720p shots would make them even more prominent?

The screenshots look nice, but I wonder whether the game will look good in 720p using a Wii to HDMI converter. I want to avoid using something legally questionable such as an emulator.

As dumb as this might sound but, as long as you have the game you can LEGALLY download the ROM for the dolphin EMULATOR.
