Not that many games in Japan sell over 900,000 copies in their first week, but for New Super Mario Bros. Wii, it is considered impressive. It is not like Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy, but games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii do have “legs” and will continue to sell well for months to come. The holiday season and the fact it is a 2D Mario game could be reasons for the high first-week sales.
