We will not know the actual Famitsu hardware numbers until next week. While the numbers are rounded estimates, it seems that the Wii had a strong week by increasing its sales from last week. From the sales boost due to the holidays, the Wii will eventually outsale the resurgent PS3 in Japan for 2009. As for the DSi family, it seems that both the DSi and DSi LL are complimentary instead of competing against each other. Sales combined with the DS Lite, they outsell the PSP family.

PS3 will soundly beat the Wii from the week of Final Fantasy XIII’s release onwards. I’m not sure how much of a lasting effect FF XIII will have on PS3 hardware sales but it should keep the PS3 in the lead over the Christmas period and into the new year.
