    While the ASCII/Dengeki numbers are from December 29, 2008 through December 20, 2009, it is quite surprising to see that the first five games on the list were released on a Nintendo platform (Wii or DS). If the list included sales until December 28, it would be much different as New Super Mario Bros. Wii would sold over two million copies and Final Fantasy 13 would bypass Wii Sports Resort.

    Big surprise — Japanese Nintendo owners are as blind as Western Nintendo owners as to the company’s regurgitation of the same games over and over again.
