Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars might have DLC fighters, but not just yet

Adding in a character like Phoenix Wright to Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars did not seem possible originally. However, it looks like there is a chance of it happening after all. Ryota Niitsuma, the producer of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, told Destructoid that the finger-pointing lawyer, in addition to Ingrid from Capcom Fighting Evolution, could make it into the game through downloadable content. According to Niitsuma, Nintendo would need to approve any DLC.

Don’t get too excited yet, though. Over on the Capcom-Unity forums, Senior Manager of Community Seth Killian indicated that there currently are no plans to release additional fighters. He did acknowledge, however, that “it is technically possible.”

“To answer the question, it has a lot to do with Nintendo, but it is technically possible. It is not something we’re planning at the moment, however.”

    That’s great news, ever since they said they couldn’t get that japanese Wii exclusive character in this version because of licensing issues I have been saying they should just make it so you could add the characters later through download, so that if you need to acquire a license you can have as much time as needed, plus if people request a new capcom character it can be done.

    Just the possibilty of DLC has me excited! Hopefully it sells really well and new characters will happen!

    DLC would be really nice, especially if we get Phoenix Wright :) Picked the game up on release day and i’m loving every minute of it. It definitly deserved the review scores it got.

    knowing how the guys at crapcom are I bet they’ll release this dlc later as a SUPER tatsunoko vs capcom!
