Dragon Quest VI sells over 900,000 in its first week

February 1st, 2010 Posted in DS, News, Posted by Valay

Famitsu is reporting that Dragon Quest VI has sold 909,981 units in its first week available on the Japanese market. As usual, that information is provided by Enterbrain. Dragon Quest VI has beaten first week sales of Dragon Quest IV and Dragon Quest V. Dragon Quest VI’s first week numbers are based on about four days of sales, so it looks like the title if off to a great start.

Not that many games, especially high-profile ones sell over 900,000 in their first sales week in Japan, so for Dragon Quest VI, it is a surprise for a game that was originally released on the Super Famicom in 1995.
