Rumor: Some NPD sales figures
February 12th, 2010 Posted in Posted by Valay, Rumors, Wii[PS3] MAG ~150K
[PS3] Darksiders ~130K
[360] Bayonetta ~100K
[PS3] Bayonetta ~60K
[Wii] Tatsunoko vs. Capcom ~50K
[Wii] No More Heroes 2 ~25K
[All] Dark Void – 22K
These figures are not confirmed, but they do look like they are fairly accurate. EEDAR recently shared the news that No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle sold about 30,000 units in its first week. Based on the official data released by the NPD as well as the top 20 rankings we posted today, the numbers above don’t seem to be too far off. If they are true, I think that most Wii owners would agree that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom is off to a pretty good start.

Something that the NPD Group does not mention on its sales reports is that games are released at different dates in a month, so a game that has low sales numbers does not always mean it sold poorly. It is possible that its low sales number represents a few days or a week in the reporting window. Not all games sell like gangbustes, as some have niche appeal.

only 50k for Tatsunoko? What the heck is everyone playing, its by far the best new Wii release since Smash Brothers. Nice to see Darksiders on the charts (great game) also find it amusing that Bayo on sold 40k more on 360 despite that the PS3 version is gimped.

LOL, 22K for Dark Void accross all platforms??? That’s the biggest flop this generation since Mirror’s Edge.
