Scribblenauts 2

- Announced in Nintendo Power
- Fixing a lot of the problems with the first game
- Improved controls
- Max won’t knock things over anymore, direct control over him
- D-pad controls
- Craig’s biggest problem with Scribblenauts is that there were elaborate level designs, but players can do what they want and not really know what the developers had in mind
- Adjectives have been added
- Fall release
- It looks like you can double up on adjectives
- Can make things bigger and smaller
- Craig says the first game worked well as a short demo
- Sold well enough to warrant a sequel, not something a lot of DS games get a chance at

Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver

- Will probably score very well
- One of the bigger reasons for the game’s existence is to introduce the Pokewalker
- Take one of your caught Pokemon, beam it into the Pokewalker, walk around with it
- Earn watts that open up mini-games
- Get items, catch Pokemon, beam them back to the game
- Journal in the game shows what happened (ex: happy at 9 AM)
- Feels like the Day Care Center
- Nintendo using Pokewalker to release exclusive Pokemon
- Made the game a worthwhile purchase with the Pokewalker
- Pokeathalon allows your Pokemon to compete in mini-games, touch-screen based

WarioWare: D.I.Y.

- Craig has been playing around with it
- Versatile, but has limitations
- Games are tap-based only
- No d-pad games
- Made all of the games using the creator
- WiiWare version doesn’t let you create games, more of a showcase to play games from the DS title
- Showcase comes with its own set of games

Game Developer’s Conference

- Iwata is not having a keynote
- Nintendo will still have a presence/booth
- Open to the public if you have the money to spend
- Metroid: Other M will be there – big focus, probably will have the demo there
- Sakamoto will have a panel, Craig will have an interview opportunity with him
- Probably won’t be a lot of big stories

Reader questions

- Implementing different difficulties can sometimes add more development time
- Super Mario Galaxy 2 probably won’t get a 10 from IGN since Nintendo is recycling a lot of things, isn’t a brand new experience, but it could still be a brilliant game
- Pokewalker does make noise (you can turn it off), doesn’t require attention
- Some GameStops are making customers pre-order Monster Hunter Tri to get the demo, probably due to confusion
- Nintendo isn’t ready to talk about two-player in Super Mario Galaxy 2, seems like it’ll be something new, might involve Yoshi
- New Super Mario Bros. (DS) is still selling well, so there’s no real point for Nintendo to make a sequel
- There is old-school exploration in Metroid: Other M, just done in a 3D perspective

    This was a horrible podcast.
Considering IGN.com is the largest video game website, their podcast is not really informative.
