Introducing Gaming Everything

June 12th, 2010 Posted in Posted by Valay, Site updates

We have some very important site news to bring to you today! Fortunately, it comes just in time for E3.

I’d definitely say that this is the biggest site update we’ve had since Nintendo Everything opened in 2007. Looking back at that year and thinking about where we are today, it’s almost impossible for me to believe where we’re at now and how far we’ve come. A lot has changed on the site in terms of what news we bring you, how we bring it to you, and how often we bring it to you.

Over the last few months, I’ve been thinking about the success of the site. Not in terms of viewership, but instead about how we’ve managed to accomplish our goal of bringing Nintendo fans the most important Nintendo news on a consistent basis and in a passionate way.

And now I’d like to take replicate that exact same feeling of dedication into another area – Gaming Everything. Yes – We’re opening a new site! The idea has been on my mind to open a general gaming site for quite some time, but the actual implementation and coding only started a few days ago. Without our genius programmer, I highly doubt we could have pulled it off so quickly. I desperately wanted the site to be live in some form before E3. We were able to do it, but as a result, a few sacrifices had to be made. More features will be on the way, but here’s what you need to know about the new site.

- Nintendo Everything will not be shutting its doors.
- The new site was built from the ground up and therefore will not be using WordPress. This will provide us with more flexibility and therefore the possibility of additional features.
- My role on Nintendo Everything will not change. Austin will have an important staff role on GE, but he’s not leaving either! We’re bringing new staff on board who are familiar with not only Nintendo, but also Sony, Microsoft, and Apple.
- Nintendo news will be covered, but not nearly as much as it is on NE. This will still be your home for the latest Nintendo news, rumors, reviews, and features!

I know this is probably a huge surprise (unless you’ve been visiting the forums), though if you’re a gaming fan in general, I hope you check the new site out! A lot of work was put into it in just a few days to guarantee that we would have something up for E3. More features are planned for the site and we’ll try to get them implemented as soon as possible. As always, if you have any questions/concerns/comments, feel free to shoot us an email, make a comment (which you can do on the new site of course!), or post on the forums. I truly value what you guys have to say!
