First official screenshots of The Last Story are gorgeous

Believe it or not, these are the first official screenshots that have been released for The Last Story. We’ve seen some of them in scans before, though Mistwalker and Nintendo have finally published direct-feed shots of the title. Gotta say again, along with Xenoblade, this game does a wonderful job revealing just how many lies we’ve heard told about the Wii’s hardware capabilities this gen. Beautiful. That said, really looking forward to the game. Been far too long since I had a good Sakaguchi RPG.

This makes me wonder why all Wii games can’t have graphics as good as these…. the Wii is much stronger than people think it is and very few companies try to push it to the max.

w,wow… these look too good to be true. we need to see in-game gameplay first. however, the blur and lighting is just gorgeous! sorry xenoblade, the last story is a 1st day purchase!

Looks great for a wii game but still doesn’t compare to the PS3 and 360. Those jaggies are still everywhere. I’ll still get it because I’m an RPG whore but I won’t have fun looking at it.

I dunno…doesn’t look much better than your typical JRPG PS2 game to me. And I’ve played a lot of PS2 RPGs.
Don’t get me wrong, the art direction is excellent, but technically it’s limited by the Wii’s hardware.
Some of those textures are in dire need of anti-aliasing.
Looks like I could cut myself just by looking at those edges. Youch! Eyesore.
