3DS picks up sound on home menu
March 15th, 2011 Posted in 3DS, Posted by Valay, ScreenshotsUpdate: Other 3DS users have said that the icons will spin faster if you blow into the microphone. So with the case below, the cartridge graphic might be spinning at different speeds as it reacts to the volume level of the music. Pretty interesting…
A 3DS owner has found a small, but neat easter egg on the system’s home menu. It seems that the handheld can “listen” to incoming noise, as demonstrated in the video above. While the music continues to play, the Pokemon Black/White game cartridge graphic dances along to the beat. You can try it for yourself when the 3DS launches in less than two weeks.

I’d like to mention that the song being played is from the game “Shatter” which has like, the coolest soundtrack ever.
Also, really cool easter egg. I love when Nintendo does little things like this in their systems like the startup easter eggs in the GCN.
