E3 2011 – What do you want to see from Nintendo?
June 5th, 2011 Posted in Features, Posted by ValayE3 is so, so close. We’re just a few days before Nintendo spills their guts about their brand new console and many other games that fans will be looking forward to. It’s such a strange feeling that their conference is almost here, since, to me at least, it feels like E3 2010 just ended! Perhaps I’m still on a high after the impressive showing Nintendo had last year.
E3 2011 is comparable to last year’s event for many reasons. In particular, we know that Zelda: Skyward Sword will once again be prominently featured. Also just like 2010, we know of a bunch of titles that will be at the show: Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, Kid Icarus: Uprising, and Super Mario 3D, just to name a few. Arguably, those titles alone would be enough to say that Nintendo had a successful E3.
Yet that’s just the tip of the iceberg. If you’re a gamer, chances are that you have at least some interest in Project Cafe. Not everyone will be planning on purchasing it day one. But surely it piques one’s curiosity at least somewhat. After all, new hardware always receives attention.
We’ve heard so many rumors about Project Cafe over the last few months that it’s just ridiculous at this point. Nikkei lent some credibility to some of the speculation by “confirming” that the controller will contain a screen and built-in camera.
Still, there’s a whole lot that we don’t know about the console. Not much has been said (or should I say rumored) about the system’s online capabilities, for instance. And you know that Nintendo will have some surprises in store.
Having said all of this, what are you looking forward to at E3? What sort of features would you like to see for Project Cafe? You can make this your E3 wishlist, if you’d like!

I cannot wait for Nintendo’s E3 conference!
I’m exceedingly hopeful that Pikmin 3 will be shown during the presentation! I’ve been patiently awaiting some coverage on that title for years now! Haha
As for Project Cafe…Nintendo hasn’t disappointed me with a console thus-far, and I don’t see that trend ending with this new system!

Skyward Sword release date, I’m dyig to play it..
Also Kid Icarus Release date.
I’m not that excited for Project Cafe because games matter for me more. I would however be pissed if they moved Skyward Sword to it.

I might be one of the very few who wants a Waluigi game…

After so many E3′s you get kinda sick of having expectations – I’m taking the Zero Punctuation approach. No expectations: no letdowns. We’ll just see what happens, apart from the stuff that’s already confirmed.

Man, I think I might have to go on prozac! The anxiety of waiting for Nintendo’s E3 conference is becoming too much for me!

Can we get like an online chat thing going on for NE?
By Valay on Jun 5, 2011
Hmm… I might be able to open some kind of bare-bones page if you guys really want… with an IRC or something.
Also, if Austin’s liveblog goes well (meaning he actually has Wi-Fi), you’ll be able to write comments in there. He has to approve which comments show up, which I know isn’t the same thing… but it’s something!

no need to do IRC, there’s plenty ready-made sites that allow you to create a chatroom

Have any specific suggestions?

Hmm… if you want, you can set up a chatroom. I can create a link to it on the announcements forum and possibility the main site if it’s something everyone would like to see.

I actually just came across a chat-like thing we’ve used for Game Nights. Maybe I can post that up on the main site later today. That way people won’t have to sign up.

technically you could just click the first link and not sign up, but it gives out random guest names (I was "obama"), but sure that sounds good too
