Fire Emblem 3DS getting paid downloadable content in March, DLC also coming to Wii U
December 26th, 2011 Posted in 3DS, News, Posted by Valay, Wii UThe first 3DS game to make use of paid downloadable content will be Fire Emblem, according to Nikkei. The site states that Nintendo is looking toward March 2012 to begin paid DLC, which likely means that Fire Emblem will be released during the same month. Players will be able to use credit cards or prepaid cards to purchase new items.
As far as third-parties go, publishers will be able to incorporate paid downloadable content in Summer 2012.
Wii U will also be getting its own share of paid downloadable content, though further details were not provided.
We may hear more about Nintendo’s future DLC plans and Fire Emblem 3DS during the Nintendo Direct presentation later today.

I just hope it’s really downloadable and not “on the disc but you have to pay to unlock” like certain other companies sometimes do. Also, I hope they release it here by a close date.

Isnt Fie Emblem made by Nintendo…..didn’t they state in an interview recently that they will allow 3rd parties to create DLC eventually with their online system but would not follow 3rd parties in charging customers for additional content with their own software? This does seem like Nintendo to charge for content when they don’t even want to charge people for the internet ! I say this is deff not true unless I hear it directly from Nintendo.
