Rumor: “Xbox 720″ to be 20% more powerful than Wii U
January 24th, 2012 Posted in Posted by Valay, Rumors, Wii UIGN has published a new rumor regarding Microsoft’s next console.
While most of the article focuses on the system’s release date and some technical specifications, there was a terse statement included regarding a comparison to Nintendo’s upcoming console. The site claims that the next Xbox “will yield 20-percent greater performance than Nintendo’s forthcoming console, the Wii U.”
I think most gaming enthusiasts had assumed that both Microsoft and Sony’s next consoles would end up being much more powerful than Wii U. However, it’ll be tough to make any true comparisons until the final specs of all of these systems have been provided.

I call BS. The only people that know NextBox’s specs are Microsoft, and they can not possibly know what the Wii U’s specs are.

If this rumor comes as truth it will be good news for the Wii U, since multiplatform games would also be released for it. And 20% is not that much either, think of it as the Wii U = PS2, X720 = Gamecube.

Even if it’s true, power isn’t everything. Nintendo’s imagination and creativity will always beat Microsoft and Sony.

Just My Perspective
I hope Wii U to NextBOX is more GCN to XBOX than PS2 to GCN. For me, the GCN and XBOX graphics were very comparable, but I really did not care for the PS2′s graphics at all.
