Pachter says Nintendo is in disarray, have “completely blown Wii U”
February 24th, 2012 Posted in General Nintendo, News, Posted by Brian, Wii, Wii UMichael Pachter had some not-so-nice things to say about Nintendo recently. The Wedbush analyst was speaking at the Ayzenberg A-List Summit 2012 event to discuss the impact of social landscape on gaming.
At the end of his presentation, Pachter fielded some questions about Nintendo.
First, Pachter spoke about Nintendo being “in disarray” and commented on how he feels that the company has “completely blown Wii U by not telling people what the price is going to be.”
“I think Nintendo is in disarray. I think they’ve completely blown the Wii U by not telling people what the price is going to be. It’s going to launch at $249 because it has to. I think they’re dead anyway because Xbox with Kinect will be priced below that by the time they launch. …[the] Wii was a bubble and that the Wii bubble has burst.”
Pachter then went on to say that Wii owners have moved on to social titles like FarmVille and that these games, along with tablet/smartphone software, have killed the console. He feels these games will lead to the death of Nintendo handhelds as well.
It wasn’t all doom and gloom, though. Pachter complimented Nintendo for their success with Wii through their use of the Blue Ocean strategy which has made gaming a more mainstream activity today.

and when is he ever right? Nintendo is dead? nobody had more revnue last year than they did. This year, its more of the same
Funny how he never mentions the 3ds anymore, now that he was proven a fool
hell he was wrong about the wii. He didnt think it would sell.
“But the influx of social games and quality mobile games on tablets and smartphones has killed the Wii. And he believes it will ultimately kill Nintendo’s handheld business.”
this is a joke . Is this why the 3ds is number 1 in the world right now?
“We view the 3DS as a revolutionary device, and expect its launch to spur hardware and software sales. Due to the unique 3DS experience previewed by Nintendo at E3 this year, we believe Nintendo will be able to sell millions of units even at a price of upwards of $250. ”
He was wrong about this. And now that the 3ds is breaking records at a lower price he cant admit his mistake

Unless you’re going to post every random person’s baseless thoughts about the future of Nintendo, I don’t see why the stuff Pachter pulls out of his ass should be posted as news.

That looks like a comment I’d see on a Youtube video or something. Doesn’t sound like something an analyst would say. Actually it almost looks like he’s TRYING to sound stupid.

Why do we even bother listening to this guy anymore?

*ignores* guy’s not worth my attention

XD!! This guy’s level of idiocy never ceases to amaze me. What’s the point of having his opinion be heard when he’s always wrong? Isn’t that embarrassing to his employer? Unless Nintendo is paying him under the table to talk trash about them so they can get more attention (even if negative) and then BAM, they swoop in and save the day by proving him “wrong”.

I honestly think he’s just a paid troll.

This is just for hits and views.
I thought all of you would have saw through that after all this time..is being a fanboy/girl making you guys dumber or what?
I don’t mean to offend :/

Pachter doesn’t get paid per hit/view. But obviously he’s more likely to make appearances/get paid if the websites get more hits, so I see how it’s related.
Unless you were referring to Valay posting this (I’d rather he not, I don’t see the value in it, there has to be some quality control)
