Camelot president would like to work on Donkey Kong, DK64 sequel
July 4th, 2012 Posted in General Nintendo, News, Posted by ValayOut of Nintendo’s entire stable of franchises, Hiroyuki Takahashi has said that he’d be most interested in working on Donkey Kong.
The Camelot president told Nintendo Gamer in its July issue that the series “would prove really interesting” since its “games are full of surprises.” He pointed to Donkey Kong 64 specifically in his response.
Speaking of Donkey Kong 64, Takahashi noted that he “would love to make a sequel to it.”
Perhaps this could happen… one day. Camelot does have a pretty close relationship with Nintendo, though the company has mostly stuck to Mario Tennis and Golden Sun titles in recent years.
Thanks to joclo for the tip.

I think Camelot should do more of their own stuff. I thought Golden Sun was great so I know the company is more than capable of creating a fresh new IP.

Well since Retro Studios did Donkey Kong Country returns, & clearly stated they’re not interested in doing a sequel anytime soon in the years to come; I’d say other companies like Camelot are more than welcome to try their hand at making games for the DK series! And I’d personally love a DK64 sequel; better yet a DK64 REMAKE for the 3DS!! And I STILL DON’T SEE WHY DK 64 is STILL NOT on the Wii’s Virtual Console; even LATE in the Wii’s Life with the Wii U on the horizon!! So why not just let Camelot say own the LICSENCING RIGHTS and remove all of the RARE stuff from the origonal game; so even if Nintendo continues to put out VC games for the Wii U, then we could have DK 64!!

What do you mean you don’t like backtracking through boring levels to find inane items while switching between different characters that play almost exactly the same to complete terrible minigames?
I suppose a sequel couldn’t make the game any worse!
