    Can I haz Yang?

  • bdp

20 dlc characters. i don’t think even capcom is that bad.

    • Aline Piroutek

Lets hope DLC is less than $18. This is too much Capcom-ish. Even Xenoblade 2 DLC is overpriced.

      • GoldenTriforce

Xenoblade 2 DLC is offering a lot of content and a story expansion (in a game where the story actually matters, and the story is complete on its own), so I think it will be worth the $30.

        • Felipe M.

Meh. The characters in XV2 all play the same and the story that actually mattered was XV1 and XV2, the rest is optional.

I never bothered with the Season Pass as I knew I’d get bored of it.

          • Nhat Anh Hoang

XV = Xenoverse, XB = Xenoblade. GoldenTriforce was talking about Xenoblade 2

          • GoldenTriforce

            Different Game

        • Aline Piroutek

Yeah, when the game is complete on it’s own, you have a point. It is all extra.

        • Aline Piroutek

But man, $30 is almost the price of Fire Emblem Shadows of Valentia. And half of the price of the game, like the DLC is the equivalente of half of the games massive contente.

      • Game_God

How can you say that when nobody knows the actual content of the DLC (Blades & expansion story)??? Sê honesta e não trolla…

        • Felipe M.

Honesta? Haha. Aline Piroutek só mente.

          • Aline Piroutek

            Tell me the lies

          • Felipe M.

You live in a country colonized by someone else and don’t even have your own language. Haha. Pringao.

          • Aline Piroutek

You live in Europe, you’re rich haha.

          • Aline Piroutek

            Switch isn’t $650 there

        • Aline Piroutek

Well, do you think the extention of the DLC will be half of the entire story mode and maps from the retail version? The possibility of this happening is almost null.

While I wouldn’t bet that the expansion will be half of the actual XC2, we still don’t know how long it will be, so I maintain that it is a bit early to declare it over-priced.
Monolith has never underdelivered content-wise, so I remain hopeful for a lengthy expansion, I also forgot to mention that a challenge battle mode is coming in summer too…

          • Aline Piroutek

Just like Mario Kart 8 and Zelda Breath of the Wild: don’t buy anything without knowing what you bought. I bought MK8 DLC blinded(didn’t know anything about the DLC) and luckily the content was great enough to satisfy the $12 price tag, 16 courses.

          • Game_God

I never buy without knowing what I’m paying for & I hardly pre-order games except very rare occasions,Zelda, Xenoblade, Mario Kart, StarFox… & that’s it

So like 50% of the characters are DLC. Arc Systems is really going the EA/Capcom way.

Still, not sure why people like Ruwbay it looks like a garbage, wannabe anime series created in US.

  • I wasn’t interested in this game before, but now I want to see how long it takes for these DLCs to be released and how they each affect the meta.

  • Auragar

Blake one of the four main girls of RWBY is DLC? HAHAHAHAHAHAH 40 characters half of which are DLC?! Oh my god haha. They aren’t even trying to hide that this is just a cash grab trying to steal money from unsuspecting and vulnerable people. And supposedly this piece of trash is what will determine if Persona 5 Arena will be made or not. I personally don’t care if it isn’t made but like holy crap.

Love the way the art style, characters, and animation looks.

The roster looks to be nice and large, though it’s unfortunate that a lot of it is DLC…

It may seem like -just- a cash grab, but some other fighters seem to do similar (with less characters), like DOA, they essentially grew the existing game rather than make another numbered entry. Perhaps fighting games are going this route, of slowly expanding on a game.

That said, it certainly does seem cash grabby, but a lot of that would depend on the price of each extra character they add (as that could also make the game increasingly expensive for newcomers). Assuming it takes the span of 2 numbered entries, $60 for the first 20 characters, so if they charge like $3 for each extra dlc character after that, that could be a fair price point (as if a second game was bought at $60/20 chars = $3 per char), plus then you can just pick and choose which ones you want.

One could argue games like League of Legends does this but worse, as each character if bought is like…what? $10+? (though it starts and is generally free to play, if you’ve time to grind it)

  • Jay Bern

Yeah, I’m gonna wait this one out. Maybe pick it up when the price drops. Or if my boy Kanji gets added in.

  • Mix feelings…..I want GG right now

  • ToonAddict1

While some of it does feel like cash grab, I also feel that time constraints (i.e. E3 and EVO) and the current situation when it comes Switch cartridges (i.e. most companies are only using up to the 16 GB cartridges) are contributing to half of the roster being DLC.
