There’s been a lot of talk today about someone potentially obtaining Articuno in Pokemon GO. The legendary Pokemon was supposedly spotted in Ohio, with one player claiming that it was received from Niantic as an apology. Plenty of debate has been going around as to whether or not this Articuno is official, but we can now say that there is a serious hole in the story.

The supposed Articuno “was not from Niantic,” a representative told Geek. The spokesperson said that “it’s either a spoof or someone hacked the game”. Niantic is still “looking into it” and there aren’t “clear answers at the moment.”

Perhaps what we have on our hands is an elaborate fake. Or maybe it was a result of Pokemon GO’s latest glitch. In any case, it’s certainly not official.

Yutaka “Yoot” Saito, creator of Seaman, had positive words to share about Nintendo as part of a feature on Wired.

Speaking with the site, Saito praised Nintendo for its risk-taking nature. He said:

“They don’t care about money in order to get a very exciting title. They take every risk to make titles interesting. When working with a publisher, never hesitate to take risks. That’s the point. The risk takers are always… Sexy. I love them.”

Posted on 7 years ago by (@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News | 4 Comments

This week’s issue of Famitsu has a recap of Level-5 Vision 2016 as well as an interview with Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino. Among the games discussed was Megaton Musashi, which appears to be on track for Nintendo platforms.

Here’s what’s leaked out of Famitsu thus far, courtesy of Siliconera:

– Going all-out with robots
– Has a world setting that will resonate with the generation of older folks
– Yamato Ichidaiji is the protagonist
– Will see it in the perspective of characters other than Yamato
– Level-5 wants to focus on showing the cool factor of robots in Megaton Musashi, along with the “awesome action that takes place inside the cockpit” where you’ll see characters shouting out special attack names and pulling levers
– We’ve seen a toy resembling Musashi’s cockpit, but Hino hopes to have something that resembles something that connects to the game like what we saw in Steel Battalion on Xbox
– Level-5 still deciding on supporting hardware
– Level-5 is thinking about 3DS developments for now
– Given how Megaton Musashi’s production revolves around giant robots and anime, they’re considering high-spec consoles that will allow you to fully enjoy such contents
– Hino wants players to play on screens that are as large as possible if they can

Pokemon GO is suffering from another notable glitch following the game’s latest update. At random times, once a Pokemon is caught, it turns into something else entirely – which also appears to be random.

This video shows Poliwag turning into Rattata:

There’s been an uptick in reports about the glitch over the past 24 hours or so. Niantic will likely need to send out another update to address the issue.

As part of yesterday’s Pokemon Sun/Moon announcements, it was announced that a special real-life Z-Ring will be sold. When using a Z-Move, the Z-Ring lights up, vibrates, and emits sounds to go along with what’s happening in-game.

We now have a bit more information about Tomy’s plans for the Z-Ring in Japan. You’ll be able to collect 18 different crystals, all of which correspond to a different Z-move.

The Z-Ring will cost 2,600 yen and is packaged with one Z-Crystal. Z-Crystal sets have three each and are priced at 599 yen. A special bundle is also planned for 4,490 yen containing the Z-Ring and six Z-Crystals.
