Risky Woods gameplay

The 1992 EA-published Risky Woods just came to Switch today as part of the QUByte Classics line, and we now have gameplay. Footage shows off the side-scrolling platformer.

Japan's best-selling games on the Switch eShop for the first half of 2023

Nintendo published a new list today that reveals the best-selling games on the Japanese Switch eShop for the first half of 2023.

What came on top? That’d be The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, of course. Despite coming out in the middle of May, it took the top spot.

There are a few other games worth mentioning. Fire Emblem Engage did well, coming in right behind Zelda. Both volumes of the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection also placed in the top ten.

The Shape of Things

Hyper Three Studios is putting The Shape of Things on Switch next month, the company has announced. The title is slated for August 31, 2023.

The Shape of Things is a cozy puzzler with a relaxing atmosphere in which players look to solve 3D puzzles inside collectable gachapons by discovering the original shape of objects. The mechanics are inspired by the classic Rubik’s cube puzzler originally invented in 1974 by Hungarian sculptor and professor of architecture Erno Rubik.

Umbraclaw

Inti Creates announced Umbraclaw a little while back, but while it was initially confirmed for PC, the studio has now revealed that a Switch version is happening as well. A release window has not been determined.

Umbraclaw, a side-scrolling action adventure, stars the house cat Kuon who’s on a mission to return to his master after he dies and finds himself trapped in the Soulplane. Further details can be found in the following overview:

At BitSummit 2023 today, Oink Games announced Safo and the Moon Warriors for Switch. A release window has not yet been determined.

Manic Mechanics launch trailer

4J Studios has issued a new launch trailer for Manic Mechanics tying in with its Switch debut this week. The video offers up a final look at the couch co-op game which was recently revealed in a Nintendo Direct.

Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical

Original (6/10): Publisher Humble Games and developer Summerfall Studios today confirmed that they’re putting Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical on Switch. It’ll be out on August 3, 2023.

In the title, players take no the role of Grace in a world where Greek Gods live in hiding among us. Further details can be found below.

Hyper Meteor

Vertex Pop – the studio behind Graceful Explosion Machine and Super Crush KO – is bringing its latest game Hyper Meteor to Switch.

This one first debuted on Playdate, but is coming to Nintendo’s console with new features. Vertex Pop pixel-perfect ported the shooter to the system. The game will have four game modes, local co-op, over 25 palettes, an all-new soundtrack, and more.

NightmareScape release date

The Switch version of NightmareScape has received a final release date. It’ll be available starting on July 20, 2023, publisher Astrolabe Games and developer Magic Fish Studio confirmed today.

NightmareScape, a narrative-driven horror adventure game, was announced for Switch this past May. Astrolabe shared a Summer 2023 release window at the time.

Zombie Soup

Publisher Astrolabe Games, along with developer AeonSparx Interactive, today announced a Switch version of Zombie Soup. A release is scheduled for August 10, 2023.

The game is a top-down shooter that has previously been in Early Access for PC. Expect the story to follow Ricky, a backpacker who is thrown into an unexpected adventure in an unfamiliar town as he looks to save a kidnapped girl. Learn more about it in the following overview:
