cerasus.media, Berlin located developer for casual games, has successfully placed its Hidden Object game “Mystery Stories DS”, distributed in Germany by rondomedia, on the international market. In the meantime agreements for North America, United Kingdom, France, Australia and Benelux have been signed.

The Berliners are particularly pleased with the success in the United Kingdom: in the second week it climbed up to number two of the GfK full-price charts, one place behind Nintendo’s “Pokemon Platinum”, with only two other third-party titles in the Top 10.

“We’d like to thank our publisher Avanquest/GSP for the excellent work.”, Managing Director Stefan Juelke expresses his elation, “The United Kingdom is anything but an easy market and second place for a third-party title is a sensational result.”

Simon Reynolds, European Games Director at Avanquest: “We are delighted that the British consumers are as excited by ‘Mystery Stories’ as we are, and it proves that games of exceptional quality will rise to the top. We are proud of what we have achieved with cerasus.media on this title, and look forward to working closely with them on future projects.”

The next foreign publishing of the title will be in Benelux. Here cerasus’ “Cradle of Rome” has already enjoyed success as a bestseller with over 30,000 units sold. Also the most recent games “Classic Games – The Premium Selection” as well as “Cradle of Egypt” will be released promptly in North America, the United Kingdom, France and Benelux.

Within the next months the Berlin studio has plenty on the agenda keeping it busy. Alongside their attendance at Casual Connect in Seattle and a shared booth with rondomedia and astragon at Gamescom in Cologne, the business is expanding with an influx of new staff and new office space. At the same time the Berliners are actively working on the first DSi, Mac and iPhone games.
