And the Wii U isn't doing terribly. I mean besides the Wii, what console had an amazing launch? The Sega Genesis only sold 400,000 copies in its first year and it did well.

Nintendo games on a Sony platform...it's just bizarre to even imagine at this point. But if it saves me money on an extra console, maybe it wouldn't be so bad! Nintendo seems way too prideful and protective of their IP to drop out of the console market though. I imagine that would only happen as an absolute last resort when nothing else works.

Wii U's doing better than Gamecube, isn't it?

Nintendo can take a hit after the wonder that was Wii. But let's face it, a ton of people bought Wii and played it for a couple of weeks. They got their friends to buy one too, with Wii Fit or something, and then never play it again*. Nintendo's not getting Wii-like sales unless they trick people into buying something like they did with Wii.

It seems to me like Nintendo would be too stubborn to partner up anytime soon, though. But if they do, let's hope it's with Sony? I would actually love it if there was only one console, with an amazing app store. People would have to stop the flame wars and argue about which games on the console are better instead.

* Not saying the Wii game library sucks. It really doesn't, but people aren't aware of this.

I feel like its more likely for Sony to drop out, the PS4 looks too expensive to sell at a fair price and still make money on. Plus the Vita isn't doing too well (But a little better than before).

Sony has its audience, though... "hardcore" gamers. Looking at the sales of titles like Call of Duty or GTA, I can only conclude that there are more of those than there are Nintendo fans. How many of those are there? Look at the sales of the Gamecube, which had fantastic first party titles...

This. If this generation flops then Sony could be in trouble. I remember hearing somewhere that Nintendo have so much spare cash that they could afford to make a loss for years and still be in buisness.

3D Mario game on Wii U

I'm going to have to come up with some new predictions.

Both me and Patrick nailed Zelda 3DS.

Not really sure if it's worth coming up with new predictions for E3, though. I guess there's going to be half a dozen third party announcements (some of which will come to Wii U), but it seems like Nintendo at this point can only reveal the Retro project, and maybe one or two smaller games. Seems like Super Mario Universe might actually come in 2013, though!

Hoping for No More Heroes announcement, but it seems like Grasshopper have their hands full.

Killer is Dead is kiiiiiiinda like No More Heroes 3. We've still got no idea what Retro could be working on. A new IP would make sense, since it's been a while since Nintendo have made one (ignoring Nintendo Land and downloadable stuff like Harmoknight), but I wouldn't be surprised if they were the ones behind a Wii U Mario Kart game since they helped develop the 3DS one.
