Is the Wii U a next-gen console? Some will say yes, others will say no. This is a topic that has been debated since Nintendo announced the console at E3 2011, and will likely be a point of discussion in the future.

I don't know why people keep saying it is not next-gen. The gamepad itself is going to prove that touch screens and hardcore games can get along very well.
