When Nintendo published Iwata Asks: Fire Emblem: Awakening in Japanese last year, a few interesting tidbits were translated from the discussion. For instance, we heard that an idea for a new Fire Emblem set in a modern world was thrown around, as was one concept for a title set on Mars.

Now that the Iwata Asks is available in English, we have the full English translation and relevant portion from the discussion. Read on below for the excerpt.

Intelligent Systems, Nintendo talk Mars and modern world set

what i loved about the discussion was how they talked about the additional content. you can clearly see how they were concerned about having a perception of a game being "complete" and that the additional content would be, well what it is, being "additional content".

this is how DLC should be made. it should "add" to the experience, not let you feel that the game somehow lacks something that getting the DLC is basically just milking some money out of you. i'm glad this is the way Nintendo is embracing DLC.
