Things To Do Before You Die

Postby thomas » Wed Feb 06, 2013 5:32 pm

So, this is a topic that piqued my interest about an hour ago, and I've been googling a bunch of stuff.

What are some of the things you want to do/experience before you die?

Here's some of the stuff I've come up with:

- Create a videogame
- Learn to draw
- Write a song
- Watch all of the best films and tv shows
- Bungee jump/parasail/a bunch of other stuff like that
- Learn to cook really well
- Learn another language fluently
- Learn to dance
- See the seven world wonders (one down, six to go)
- Travel a ton more (especially Asia/South America)
- Try LSD or Mushrooms

You'll notice the distinct absence of kids and marriage on my list, haha. Anyone wanna go next?

- Fap
- *boing*
- Threesome
- Discover the secret to immortality

...... Seriously though, here are some immediate thoughts:
- Travel the world
- Create a full-length film
- Become a professional lawyer
- Help the folks so that they'd no longer need to work
- Start an animal shelter

I haven't considered marriage or having my own family yet. Still consider myself top young for that. But I'd like a waifu too. lol

This thread is kind of weird. Mainly because I don't like thinking about death. I never really thought about this topic... but I'd really like to have my own family and a kid or two one day.

Im definitely not the kind of man/dude that plans ahead, so I dont have a list. The first thing would be finishing my studies and then study more. There are a lot of books I need to read, too.

Also, Im working in this project, or projects actually. One is a comic book, the other are some short stories and the last one is this "bigger" story. The comic is done, I just need to draw it, so that should come first.

In the end, I would love to be a father and a wise wizard when Im old.

I would like to go into space.
You are reading this text. You might stop sometime, but you are reading it now. You now realize that you have manual control of your blinking and tongue. You may now stop reading. Unless you want to keep going. In which case, I love you. Take me now.

Hmm, this is tricky. Here's a few ideas:

-Travel. Always wanted to travel. Preferably somewhere very hot because I hate cold weather :P
- Meet that special someone ;) (see: ehead's post)
- Learn another language (Before I do that I have to learn Kanji first *shudder*)
- Drive a Supercar in real life :P
- Learn to Ice Skate (I tried once but just ended up falling over a lot)
- Complete my infinite backlog of Anime and Games
- Banish the entire Chav population from the United Kingdom
- Hug Miyamoto and tell him I love him.
- Hug all of my ridiculous anime crushes and them I love them

:D

Aw, Tiggu wants a waifu.

Seriously, get out there and travel as soon as you can, preferably before you're tied down with a significant other and a baby on the way. It really doesn't have to cost much if you're clever. Travel off-season, couchsurf (I've done it a ton), don't do super-touristy stuff, or even work while traveling. That being said, holy crap is Japan expensive.

I prefer warm places too but really, really want to see Iceland. So pretty.

And yeah that backlog thing's never gonna happen for me :(

I also don't really have a list because death is just a depressing topic and I consider myself a lazy person who gets by on the bare minimum.

But off the top of my head:
- Find a special someone. I don't plan on marriage but it seems like that's what everyone expects nowadays so I don't know
- I'd like to visit another country (in europe most likely). Though not alone. I think if I can't share that with another, it's meaningless for me.
- Find decent jobs to live off of. I'm not an overly ambitious person. There's only a few careers that actually interest me like comics, writing, and animation but I suck at drawing and I really just have no idea how to go about any of that.
- Do two years of college at least. Hopefully in some form of art and creative writing so I can at least draw and write for fun.

You know, I dont like "travelling" that much. Then again, for a while "traveling" was camping with school. Man, I still have some nightmares. Now that I have traveled with my family, I like it and there are a lot of places I would love to go. I guess what Im tying to say is that I didnt want to travel because I was traumatized by staying in a goddam tent (full of other people) in the ass of the world without a toilet.

- Become fluent in a second language
- Live overseas
- Write a book/make a feature film/create a game that isn't awful
- Learn to play the keytar
- Get married and have a kid (NOT URGENT)
- Come up with more stuff because this list is kind of boring

I'm already kind of tied down :/ I have college for about 2-3 more years and then maybe Uni for two more :s Then it's off to get a job...

When you go to Europe make sure you come to the UK! ;) Where I live is a bit boring but places like London are awesome (as long as you don't mind crowds of people)

@Gabo: I was on crutches when my school went camping so I got away with that one xD

You can't take a gap year, Tiggu?

I have mixed feelings about the UK. It has gorgeous architecture, but terrible weather; lovely accents, but plenty of asshats; a great music scene, but bad (native) food.

Hmm, guess I could take a gap year. It never occured to me before.

And to be honest I don't like most traditional British food either. I love Chip Shop Chips but that's the only thing I can say I really like. Desserts are better but still not great.

I would prefer to start with a foreign country that speaks english :P I really have no idea how people get around in countries like Germany or Italy. I would feel awkward trying to communicate with people using hand signals.

And that's a lot of school Tiggu o_O is that for game design or something?
