And with that, season 3 has officially kicked off.

Right off the bat though, I don't think it had as great an impact as the season 2 premiere. I enjoyed the lore of the Crystal Empire, but King Sombra was a bit of a letdown as a villain; his presence was imposing and everything, but he really didn't do anything until the very end. Overall, it was good, but nothing spectacular, though I'm definitely looking forward to the episodes to come. Pinkie Pie clones, adorable, little fillies, and a magic battle between Twilight and Trixie? Sounds like the making of a good season.

On another note, did anyone stick around to catch the series premiere of Littlest Pet Shop? I was curious about the show since it featured some of the voice talent from My Little Pony, including Ashleigh Ball, Tabitha St. Germaine, Peter New, Nicole Oliver, and Kathleen Barr. It's actually pretty good, I just might keep watching.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have the sudden urge to buy some Gak.

I actually pulled away from the screen when I saw that. Godammit, Pinkie, you're gonna make season 3 insane.

There were soooooo many commercials for this stuff called Gak during the premiere, it was ridiculous. So much so, that we have this now:

So, Too Many Pinkie Pies. Yup, just as chaotic and nonsensical as you'd imagine. I don't really think I can say much about this episode; there's just too much going on to cover every base. Pinkie being wacky, Pinkie being depressed, Pinkie being destructive, Pinkie being physics-breaky. It's got all of that and more. I'm actually really surprised that this episode didn't have some sort of musical piece; Pinkie Pie is one of those characters that I usually associate with the show's songs, but we didn't get one. Oh well, no big loss. It left more time for character development.

One thing that really caught my attention was how a character (in this case, Rainbow Dash) actually acknowledged Pinkie's physics breaking abilities. I don't think anyone in the show had actually looked at Pinkie Pie and asked "How'd you do that?" before. It was an odd moment for me.

I don't know about you guys, but that last one seemed unusually...violent.

Overall, it's hard not to like this one, especially for fans of Pinkie Pie. You really do feel bad for her when she realizes the mistake she made and gets all depressed.

I really enjoy this one. The "finger" scene was awesome.

That was a pretty funny ep. I laughed loud when the first Pinkie Pie get distracted and Twilight just immediately zaps her without warning.

I honestly don't have much to say about today's episode. I never cared about the Cutie Mark Crusader's since the beginning of the series. I think the only CMC episode I liked was Sisterhooves Social and that was more about Sweetie Belle's relationship with Rarity than it was about the CMC as a group. As a matter of fact, this episode is probably quite near the top of my list of least favorite episodes. I didn't really care much about Babs Seed even after learning her brief backstory.

If I had to come up with something good to say, then I'd say the musical number was pretty good and Sweetie Belle was consistently funny throughout the episode. I did find the A-Team reference to be quite hilarious though. Oh, and this:

Definitely looking forward to the next episode though. The return of Trixie, hell yeah!
