HORI putting out 128GB microSD card for Switch in Japan next month

Posted on September 13, 2017 by (@NE_Brian) in News, Switch

HORI is preparing yet another Switch-branded microSD card for Switch. A 128GB version will be going on sale in Japan next month. Pricing will be set at 14,018 yen.

As many of you know, HORI has released a few other microSD cards for Switch as well. These include 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB options. Perhaps we’ll see a 256GB version next?

That translates to $126.83 USD according to Google, which is way too overpriced for a 128GB card, I’d expect a 200 GB card to be priced like this and even then it would only be a little bit more expensive.

I’m sure there are some 128GB MicroSD memory cards are available at reduced prices.

Definitely, I got a SanDisk one for $50 CAD including tax.

What the heck that’s so expensive, why even bother?

That is INSANELY high-priced. I got a 128GB card for my Switch on Amazon.co.jp for ¥5600 (Roughly $52USD), and it works perfectly.

yep, can get one with 128GB on Amazon germany for 56€ with reading speeds 100MB/s and saving 90MB/s instead of 80MB/s and 15MB/s this one has to offer… kind of a scam

In fairness to those commenting, electronics in general (and many other things) are way overpriced in Japan. I remember having to buy an emergency iPhone charge cable and being shocked at the prices.
