[Let’s Talk] Super Mario Run launch thoughts

Posted on December 17, 2016 by (@NE_Brian) in Let's Talk, Mobile

Mario has finally made his mobile debut. Super Mario Run launched on Thursday… though only on iOS. The Android release will follow in 2017.

Have you downloaded Super Mario Run? If so, have you purchased the full game, or do you intend to? What are your impressions? Perhaps you’re holding off on downloading it all together? Or maybe you’re waiting on the Android version?

That’s a lot of questions, though Super Mario Run is certainly deserving of them. If you do have any final thoughts on the title, be sure to share them with us in the comments!

Highlights from last week’s topic: Which games would you want to see on the GameCube Virtual Console?

Radiant Dawn
Thousand Year Door
Kirby Air Ride
Pokemon XD/Colosseum

Well, I usually don’t care much for VC, but it would be cool to see any of these games:

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Top pick for me)
Super Mario Sunshine
Luigi’s Mansion
Mario Kart Double Dash!!
Kirby Air Ride
Wario World
F-Zero GX
Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour (Tennis too, but I never owned it so I have no idea)
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Bomberman Generation
Sonic Heroes
Mario Party 4, 5, 6, 7…
Metroid Prime 1 and 2 (Maybe not super interested but I feel like it needs to be there for people who enjoy them)

You know, all the Nintendo stuff + more?

I’m out of ideas, there are many games; I just can’t think of them atm.

FinalArcadia

There are a lot of great SEGA games that I’d love to see on the Gamecube VC. Skies of Arcadia: Legends is a masterpiece, the Super Monkey Ball games are good fun with friends, and Billy Hatcher & the Giant Egg is a flawed-but-charming little game too. Most of the Sonic games on Gamecube are already available elsewhere, but the original Sonic Riders would be nice to have on the VC too.

As for non-SEGA games, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles would be another of my VC wishes. It’s still a beautiful game that holds up very well with an amazing soundtrack to boot. If they could alter it so that you could emulate the GBA controller functionality with something else (using a 3DS perhaps) it’d be perfect. That might be too much trouble for little reward though.

Ahh nowthen i wondered why the wii u never had gamecube vc maybe costly or difficuilt to emulate but as for switch, eternal darkness, fzero gx are two musts as far as i’m concerned!

Kyle Eerik Turner

Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, Time Splitter 2 & Future Perfect, Second Sight, Cubivore (I know it’s uncommon, but I loved it), Burnout 1 & 2, Metroid: Prime 1 & 2.

There’s probably a lot I’m going to forget, but. . .

– Animal Crossing

– Star Fox Assault (so fun; add some way to have multiplayer, off and/or online)

– Kirby Air Ride (same like SF:A)

– Baten Kaitos (both games~)

– F-Zero GX (gimme dat multiplayer!)

– Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (lol, I hear lackluster things, but I want to give it a shot)

– Chibi-Robo!

– Gotcha Force

– Nintendo Puzzle Collection (TTATT Give me Panel de Pon!!)

– Wave Race

– PSO (I’d like to try III, even though it’s different)

Jack Red

I might be the only one who’d like to see this, but bring all of the THQ Spongebob games that were released. (Battle for Bikini Bottom, Movie, Lights! Camera! Pants!, Creature from the Krusty Krab, and maybe even Revenge of the Flying Dutchman.)
