Mega Man 11 has four difficulty modes, silhouettes for Robot Masters

Following the reveal of Mega Man 11, Capcom put out an official press release for the game. Included in that was a tease of “a variety of difficulty options.”

The official Japanese website for Mega Man has more information about this. Four difficultly levels are included: “Newcomer Mode”, “Casual Mode”, “Normal Mode”, and “Expert Mode”. It goes without saying, but the difficulty should increase as you go up the scale, with “Expert Mode” providing the toughest challenge.

Also coming from the site, we have our first glimpse of Mega Man 11’s Robot Masters. They’re shown via silhouettes in the image below.

Please don’t be a short game

    • Ardisan

I have a good feeling its going to be the same length as the original 1-10.

    • Reggie

You’re going to be sorely disappointed because all the classic series Mega Man games are short.

      • Hidden Flare

Considering they are really pushing it instead of a simple reveal trailer I think they may make it decent time.

        • Reggie

They are really pushing it precisely because it’s been such a long time now since we last had a major entry in the series, since 2010. Fans have been clamoring for a Mega Man game for years now. Of course they’re really going to push it.

The classic MM games are short, but they can try to add a lot of replay value like they did with MM Powered Up and MM 9 and 10, with things like more playable charachters (like Roll, Bass and Protoman), challenge mode, stage creator and maybe make the Robot masters playable.

To be honest with you, I am fine with 1-8. I do not care about Powered Up and MM 9-10 with challenge mode, stage creator, and thats not so me.

    • azoreseuropa

It is going to have 8 robot masters just like 1-10. You silly.

  • Adrian Brown

Sonic the Hedgehog is one of them apparently.

  • Ardisan

Playing expert mode instantly, love to play games at highest difficulty as Its more fun!.

  • Reggie

I thought MM10’s easy mode was pretty well…easy. Ridiculously so. Wonder if that’s what’s become Newcomer mode now.

    • Aline Piroutek

My brother played on Easy. Man, way too easy to me. It wasn’t Megaman to me in that difficulty.

They shouldn’t have reveal the game so early if it won’t release till late next year. This was the prefect game to come up as a surprise where the reveal was maybe a month or two before release.

    • Reggie

On the contrary, now was the perfect time to reveal it. Fans have been wanting another entry for years now. People have gotten sorely fed up with Capcom’s lack of drive that many, myself included, had grown hopeless of ever seeing another major Mega Man title and came to expect nothing more but merchandise, because that’s all we’ve gotten for the past seven or so years. Needless to say, this surprise announcement blew us out of the water. No one was expecting this.

Holding off an announcement wouldn’t have helped anyone. Sure the build right now looks a little unpolished (though I expect the visuals will be final), but announcing this at such a crucial time (close to the anniversary date) has instilled a lot of good will and excitement for us. We can wait for a 2018 release; we’ve waited this long just for an announcement, we can wait another year for release.

In short, “they shouldn’t have revealed the game so early”, be quiet.

This year is 30 years anniversary, you know

      • FutureFox

Yes I do know. So to celebrate the 30th anniversary of a game amounts to announcing a plan? Game announcements are a dime a dozen. A game announcement with a “30th Anniversary” banner slapped above it doesn’t make the ordeal anymore special.

Still better than keep silence this year

Actually, they should have revealed last year to launch the game on the 30th anniversary.

      • FutureFox

That would have been preferable but they likely didn’t develop it until early this year.

  • Aline Piroutek

Please, difficult modes not via DLC like Mega Man 9.
