Firebrand Games, the developer behind Need for Speed: The Run on Nintendo platforms, has confirmed that the title will feature an autolog system as well as online play.

The company’s website states:

“Firebrand’s third product in the massive Need for Speed series also marks both the Glasgow Studio’s first entry into the franchise and the first Firebrand title developed for Nintendo 3DS. The game features a unique parallel storyline to the HD versions of The Run told in 3D motion comic form.

“Featuring a fusion of classic Need for Speed gameplay with an epic race across the USA, both the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii games feature over 200 miles of track and 40 supercars to drive. The 3DS game also includes Local and Online racing and the first handheld version of Need for Speed’s incredibly addictive Autolog system- battle your friends across 40 Challenges- who can complete The Run in the fastest time?”

Firebrand is also working on the Wii version of the latest Need for Speed game, but the site doesn’t provide any details. Hopefully it, too, will contain online gameplay.
