New DSiWare app from Miyamoto releasing in Japan this month

– Miyamoto: “It’s not the case that I have hobbies in the hopes of making a new game.”
– In an interview between Miyamoto and Shigesato Itoi, Itoi joked that he and Iwata talk often about Miyamoto’s involvement with his “neighborhood association”
– Miyamoto mentioned his neighborhood association involvement back in July at an investors Q&A
– New project created from his community work
– DSiWare application being made to allow people to easily “make their own DS download service”
– Use the DSi’s camera and mic to record voice and image samples
– Edit the samples, send them out to other DS owners
– Example: Stamp rally at a neighborhood committee meeting
– Miyamoto thinks the app could be used by retailers, such as a coffee shop owner using it to display a menu and shop introduction, then customers would be able to access the service from their table
– Similar to a do-it-yourself version of the navigational/promotional services that are at museums, shopping malls, and McDonalds
– Releasing in Japan this month
