Now I am curious if this is a joke. It is hard to believe that Nintendo would let them put that on their characters.

    • the distressing thing about this is that she is really badass in mario kart, 3d world and super paper mario

    • Tlink7

      Can’t princesses be badass?

      • Exposer

No if she is not in Smash…Or Star Wars.

        • Tlink7

Alternate take on the character? 😛 basically what Smash does all the time (Bowser sounds like he’s got a really bad cough, for example)

        • i mean any of the rpgs where she does anything, her game, mario 2, 3d world. she breaks the rules you set alot

          • Exposer

            Ah right.

      • Fandangle

They can, but referring to them as “badass” especially in this context is a little stupid. Peach is already pretty bawler, but once again they’re pretending like all the games when she actually does something besides being kidnapped didn’t happen.

        • Tlink7

True. I can’t wait to see what this game looks like at E3, very curious!

    • Mh, they must’ve misspelled Daisy for some reason.

    • Fandangle

Oh we can say badass in the comments now? I was gonna say it’s ironic that they came out with a mario game that now allows more swearing than the Nintendoeverything comment section.

  • SM

Im not fully judging the game until i see a gameplay trailer, but from all i read, it sounds very interesting, Badass Princess Peach for the win, though i wished she wasnt wearing her dress

    • MajoraMan28

      Why not?
It shows to the world that one can be strong and badass without distancing from femininity, different from what modern feminism preaches..

      • yeah please tell us what modern feminism preaches, mr gamergate

        • lol gamergate. though the stigma against feminism is definitly an extreem group among an otherwise nobel cause

    • Tlink7

      What’s wrong with… her?… it?…. wearing a dress?

  • GoldenTriforce

A surprise which was leaked last year. Good job Ubisoft, I hope you haven’t done that with… lets say Assassin’s Creed or something. That would be hilarious.

  • JP

only 4 worlds? how about 40?

    • Coonfoot

“Worlds” aren’t the same as “levels”, which there could be a lot more of.

  • NeptuniasBeard

I’m sorry, “Badass Princess”. In a Mario related title? Get this AO3 nonsense out of here. Clearly fake.

But if it is real, sign me the hell up!

    • You disgrace that Yusuke avatar that you have by thinking this is anything but absolute garbage.

      • NeptuniasBeard

I don’t know how I could think it was garbage, there’s too little I know about it lol

        • Disgracing the Yusuke avatar!

          • Velen (Not WoW)

YOU DISGRACE YOURSELF by engaging in blathering.

          • Nah

    • hoteltuesday

They also spelled “personalities” wrong. Plus, why would “The Unstable” be a title when the others have nouns? A mess.

    • To be fair these are internal marketing materials. Wasn’t meant to get out to the public.

  • BananaJama

I like how part of the business startegy is to “Convince media/gamers.”
One of the unwritten laws of gaming is that no-one likes Rabbids, so good look convincing.

    • Coonfoot

      No-one? That’s just exaggerating.

    • “the unwritten laws of gaming” involves a minor ubisoft franchise?
sounds like a long list to remember

  • GoldenTriforce

If they can run snowdrop, how about bringing over South Park?

    • Jared Leeno

Like Trey and Matt care about Nintendo. They cant even release a game onto the o the platforms without delaying it half a dozen times.

      • MagcargoMan

Did you forget about those South Park games on the N64?

  • Blanco8x8

    “Badass Princess”

Oh God, what have they done?!

  • ben

Nothing will please me more than seeing this game in a desert buried.

  • ben

20 hours.. for a tactics rpg… tutorial length game.. jesus.

  • Such a trash game. I don’t see why this even exists. Just why.

    • TDude73

      Orly?

    • not even out and ppl already calling it trash, hell not even confirmed

      • ben

People have a good sense of what is crap.

        • Ninty Kad

First: Gameplay. Then see if the game is actually trash

        • internet people thought heath ledger would make a terrible joker

        • Velen (Not WoW)

No they don’t. They only have a sense of what they think is crap, not objective crap.

          • oh dear god stop using the word “objective”
the only “objective crap” is the stuff you leave in the toilet

          • Velen (Not WoW)

            That’s…

            -actually an interesting point.

      • True there might actually be somebody out there that cares and this ends up not even actually being real but I don’t think we are that lucky. Though the new images from this update/post do seem more fake considering the bad English on several of the pics.

      • Blanco8x8

You don’t need to see trash to know there’s trash nearby.

        • Jaxon Holden

Really? Cause I’m pretty sure 95% of mediocre games get sold to gamers as the next big thing, and they don’t find out until they buy it and play it.

Gamers wouldn’t know trash if they were sleeping in a landfill.

          • gamegod

The internet nowadays has 2 rules:
_ be a jaded cynical toxic douche.
_be lightening quick at vomiting it on the comment sections.

    • Jay

Just wait til July where they “Convince Media / Gamers”

      • Not gonna convince me or anybody else who hates it. Maybe little kids (which is who this is aimed at) but yeah…

        • Tlink7

Mario in general is aimed at a children/family audience

          • MagcargoMan

            https://www.kotaku.com.au/2010/05/nintendo-isnt-trying-to-make-kiddy-games/

“After all, Mario wasn’t a game only for children in the first place. As I make a game, I try to keep in mind that guys in their fifties will play it, too.”

            Miyamoto’s words

          • Tlink7

Well, you got me there xD still, children are part of the targeted demographic, so this game possibly appealing to the young ones would have happened without the Rabbids too.

  • TDude73

Ubisoft publishing Mario X Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. I’m curious to know how it plays at next month’s E3 presentation (unless if Aisha “Girlwood” Tyler introduces this game at Ubisoft’s E3 2017 Media Briefing)… and DO THAT ####!

    • GoldenTriforce

      ???

    • It’ll be at Nintendo’s Spotlight thing wasting the precious limited time that that video has. At least it is a new game even if it is absolute trash.

      • ben

I hope it does not make the show real.. should be in a basement.

        • It definitely will it is a 2017 Switch game exactly what Nintendo said would be at their Spotlight thing.

          • ben

            Awful.

          • Yup but I mean what can you expect from Nintendo their E3 showings have been awful for several years now.

          • ben

I was hoping for some more new IPs not recycled rejects mixed with Mario. I was hoping for Pikmin 4.

          • You were hoping for too much. Nintendo doesn’t care about doing cool things for the fans just trying to make money by being cheap and hoping people buy their trash. The whole industry is like that and it is no surprise gaming is dying and quickly at that.

          • ben

            Splatoon and Arms look great.

          • No they don’t especially not Arms.

          • ben

OK… I don’t know what you think looks good then.

          • Not very much.

          • Lance Devon

Hoping for trash to avoid trash? That’s not productive, bro.

          • ben

            Are you being serious?

          • Lance Devon

            Are you? You cannot be.

          • GoldenTriforce

I’m noticing a lot of unpopular opinions on this page.

          • GoldenTriforce

            2014

          • What about it?

          • GoldenTriforce

That was a very good E3 for Nintendo, most people said they won that year. 2013 and 2015 kind of sucked though.

          • I don’t remember 2014. But that still leaves 2015 and 2016 and this year is looking bad and I can’t remember 2013 but I am sure it wasn’t great. For all I know 2014 sucked too. Point is Nintendo @ E3 is garbage. E3 overall is garbage.

          • GoldenTriforce

Very well paced, high budget, interesting interviews, good trailers, a lot of really cool announcements, and not any really mediocre ones either. (At the time the Star Fox announcement was very cool, even if you thought the game was bad when it actually released.)

BTW E3 2010 and 2004 were also very good for Nintendo. Others such as 2008, not so much.

          • The video is of the 2014 one? Yeah no not very good.

          • GoldenTriforce

Maybe you just dislike E3 in general then, lol.

          • I do. But the pacing in that was awful. Waaaay too much time spent on each title especially at the beginning.

          • GoldenTriforce

A good contrast is E3 2015. There were many games during the 2015 Digital Event (Federation Force, Youkai Watch, Paper Jam) which had too little time spent on them, they were unmemorable because of this and only raised questions. Along with that games such as Yoshi’s Woolly World, which had already been heavily explained over the prior year, Mario Maker, and Hyrule Warriors Legends, whose trailer leaked before hand, had too much time spent. In 2014, other than possibly Smash, each game had a trailer which, IMO, didn’t last too long but fully explained each game, and the games which did have interviews were either explaining new concepts, such as Splatoon and Breath of the Wild, or were not redundant, and often were insightful. Maybe you just weren’t interested in games such as Yoshi’s Woolly World, but I still think including interviews for games like that are great for creating a balanced pace while also creating insight into a game’s development process, which is very nice for events like E3 (which is still technically an industry event). Beyond that each trailer had a good amount of energy and did not overstay their welcome, at least to me. (I would have liked maybe a bit less Smash, though most would have disagreed with me.)

          • Yoshi’s Wooly World is about the only game shown that I had any interest in (at the time I was also interested in Zelda but what it ended up being disappointed me).

          • GoldenTriforce

Well that is then just an issue with their lineup, which in that case you probably won’t ever like a Nintendo lineup. Did you like the Yoshi interview?

Also you were disappointed by BoTW? In that case I can see you being disappointed by a lot of games.

          • I can still appreciate good games even I am not interested in them myself, like God of War for example beautiful game, will never play it myself. I was fine with Smash other than being too long. Bayonetta is fine etc. The lineup isn’t the issue even it means that I walk away without any new games to actively look forward to unfortunately. And no I didn’t like the interview especially with all the focus on stupid Amiibo which was another big problem. Way too much Amiibo. I absolutely despise Amiibo it is a huge middle finger to the consumer by Nintendo. And yes I was, it didn’t feel like a Zelda game, just another boring open world western styled borefest with a Zelda paint job. Like Persona Q was Etrian Odyssey with a Persona paint job (albeit I loved Persona Q, I don’t dislike Etrian Odyssey and love Persona to death so yeah, not the point though). And eh I am not usually disappointed in games per se. I usually know I will either like something or not. Zelda is a series I love(d) but then the result was just… not good. Not what I wanted. Not an actual Zelda game.

          • GoldenTriforce

Oh okay about Zelda (I like it because it feels more JRPG-like than most open world games)
Also I meant the 2014 Yoshi interview, I agree that the amiibo focus in the 2015 one was stupid, and doing another interview was redundant, though I did heavily appreciate them going out of their way to highlight a random employee over just the Directors. Directors are cool, but its nice to see other team members get the spotlight sometimes.

          • It doesn’t feel more JRPG-like at all it feels like a bog standard open world action game with loot. And even in the 2014 interview there was Amiibo. I just don’t care about interviews. No talky talky just gameplay.

          • GoldenTriforce

Oh that was just them knitting a Yoshi. I can see why you wouldn’t like the interviews, and most of the Digital Event games don’t get them, but I still see it wise to include some as many people including me enjoyed them.

Also I was more speaking in terms of atmosphere, world, and tone. I will say that in terms of Open World games, a lot of the nuances of Breath of the Wild fix most of the major problems I have with open world games. Usually I am not a fan of them but I am really enjoying BoTW.

          • Was it? The Amiibo were also knit Yoshi. I just skipped over the video to get an idea of what was in it I wasn’t going to sit and watch 50 minutes of something I saw before even if I forgot about it.

I still don’t see it, it still seems like a typical open world game to me. Just has a Zelda paint to make it stand out and it worked for many people but not me.

          • GoldenTriforce

Amiibo was announced in 2015, this was just a knit Yoshi (since the game was about Yoshi)

As for Zelda, to each their own. Even if it is not Zelda, I still find it to be an excellent open world game, and far higher quality than most others in the genre, but if you don’t like it that is up to you, and I can certainly see why.

          • I will take your word for it.

I disagree that it is higher quality even ignoring the fact that it is a game that isn’t Zelda but is called Zelda as it has happened before (Zelda II, which WAS a good game, just not a Zelda game, similarly with Castlevania II which was essentially the same type of game even as Zelda II, good but not Castlevania, though Castlevania has had much worse offenders like Lords of Shadow or whatever which wasn’t even good).

          • GoldenTriforce

Again if you disliked it, that’s cool, I was just saying my feelings on it. I have not played any Castlevanias, heard I should.

          • what
            no
it is not ok to dislike breath of the wild
            auragar needs to be punished

          • Just don’t play the newest 2-3.

          • breath of the wild is just xenoblade without auto-battle

          • Uh no.

          • shaw98

E3 2014 is still the best E3 ever.

    • hi v3.0

LOL YES LET AISHA PRESENT THIS GAME

  • ben

The font… everything..it is like Ubisoft thinks automatically “Mario is a whaky guy!”..
If you buy this game you are opening the flood gates for shovel ware..

    • somebody tell ben what shovelware is

      • This game (and many others).

        • Lance Devon

Make the list, you can literally start with everything Switch currently has at the moment outside moderately fun Zelda. They ain’t going to find out on their own.

          • MK8D is a fun game even if it is just a simple port. But yeah Switch has a very small library of legitimately interesting games (which is one reason I don’t own one).

          • Lance Devon

            And obviously won’t for years.

          • This is indeed sadly true. Pokemon (because Stars is not real, people need to get over it) won’t be until 2019 at the earliest and even then I doubt it until 2020 if not later. For me personally SMT Next but again probably not until 2020 and I doubt it is even exclusive so yeah… Switch has an uphill battle especially for me personally.

          • Lance Devon

SMT is going to be watered down, and don’t support ports of ideas of ports. Or else that’s all we’ll get.

          • We don’t know what SMT Next will be yet. I am not talking about SMT:DSJ.

          • Lance Devon

It’s on a Nintendo system, SMT4 already did that, so they’ll do it again. It’s more marketable that way to Nintendo gluttons.

          • Switch is a much more powerful console we cannot judge SMT Next on what SMTIV was. And like I said I doubt SMT Next is exclusive to Switch which means you can’t say anything about Nintendo not that Atlus talks to Nintendo about their games unless it is a crossover like TMS#FE was.

          • Lance Devon

Power has nothing as to why SMT4 was watered down, had nothing to do with power and everything to do with market.

          • Eh it had a lot to do with power and Atlus being kind of lazy if I being honest. They (used to anyways) have an excuse being they are so small. But eh. We will see what happens.

          • Oh I know it doesn’t mean game I don’t like. But this game and many others are clearly shovelware.

          • ok you still don’t get it hon
not just low quality, but low effort, cash-ins
you don’t see leaks about shovelware
shovelware doesn’t get announced at e3

and switch needs to have games first for anything to qualify as shovelware

          • Shovelware does get leaked and shovelware does get announced at E3. The gaming industry is dying gotta try to get every last bit of it out before it dries up.

          • no, it doesn’t
you have no idea what shovelware is
even though i spent the last ten minutes explaining it to you

          • Yes I do. Just get over it.

          • “words just mean anything i want!”

          • Nope, I admit when I don’t know things. I know hardly anything about drugs for example, or the new terms and acronyms kids use anymore. I don’t know what 90% of emojis mean.

          • oh god he’s talking about kids
let me guess you’re like 19

          • 22

          • HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

          • SpectralDynamite

For once, I agree with you.

  • Jesiah Grant

this would of been better with actual Rayman characters, 8 playable characters… four of them are wearing the other fours clothes…so unique…so lazy

  • Komasham

“Badass Princess” WHAT ARE WE GETTING OURSELVES INTO?

  • Badass Peach needs to be a meme.

    • Tlink7

Petch is the only Peach meme for me

  • theFooFighter

    Seems interesting so far.

  • ben

There is only so much I can vomit in my mouth.

  • FutureFox

And so Nintendo is okay with referring to the princess as badass?

  • DeltaPeng

Hmm, fingers crossed that this turns out to be real.

Now that I’ve seen it, I’ll be sad if it’s not

  • FutureFox

Better that they leaked this. You don’t want to give people a stroke during E3.

  • Lance Devon

Watch as this secret game is shown at E3 and gets “old news’d” immediately.

  • Vive

    “Surprised at Announcement”

Everyone already knew this ages ago.

  • anthony

Tbh, as weird as the concept is, I actually would have gotten this game anyways for the lols… if it wasn’t a tactical RPG.

But it is and tactical RPGs aren’t my thing, so I’m probably not getting this one.

  • Jay

Replace rabbids with minions and kids would lose their damn minds.

    • ben

Minions are funny.. rabbids are ugly. Kids have brains.

      • Jag Gentlemann

Minions and having a brain can’t go together.

        • Velen (Not WoW)

Wrong. I’ve watched them, giggled, and I still have a functioning brain.

        • oh god i love it when people are too cool for stuff on the nintendo fan site

          • Jag Gentlemann

I don’t see the relation to one thing with another. Minions are cancer in a Nintendo fan site and in anywhere.

          • stop calling things “cancer” kid

          • Jag Gentlemann

            No.

          • i hope you never have to experience losing someone to cancer

          • Jag Gentlemann

I’m sorry to hear that you did.

          • you’re really not

  • TheJuiciest

August. Usually there’s like nothing during that time, so I might check it out if it’s cool. Definitely wouldn’t mind a decent Mario RPG. Certainly more interesting than stuff like Mario Sports, Party, etc. these days.

    • ben

Don’t support this crap. Buy some indies or Disgaea.

      • Phish!

YOu havent seen the gameplay yet, damn can people on the internet be less adult than that..

Ugh stupid idea, so it is a bad game. Stop with that crap. The game doesnt have to appeal to you, but you havent seen gameplay and wait then to judge if you like it or not and not liking it doesnt mean it is a bad game. These events has shown me that almost all of the internet are a bunch of little whining kids

        • ben

It is ubisoft. They make shovelware for Nintendo consoles.

          • Phish!

They also made good games Child of light, South park in recent memory,(not for nintendo) Rayman Legends was even exclusive for wiiu for a while and that is an amazing game. So no you are wrong

          • ben

Child of light was trash. Sorry that is not a good game.

          • R.Z.

            Rayman Legends exclusive ?
            lmao
You mean the demo, maybe ?

          • Phish!

one of the Rayman games was WiiU exlcusive for a while, then wiiu failed and it was ported to other systems

          • R.Z.

            Nope.
It was said to be an exclusive at launch, then it was delayed only days before launch and finally released on all consoles at the same time.
That’s actually the reason why so many Nitnendo fans are mad at Ubisoft.
There has never been a WiiU exclusive Rayman. The only exclusive games from Ubisoft on WiiU were ZombiU and a rabbids party game.

      • TheJuiciest

        Nah.

        • ben

Really? You are going to buy this over Disgaea?
Disgaea is like an 8-9/ 10 game with complex battle systems and over 200 hours of game play and you are going to buy this?

          • Philippe Lucas

Can’t people buy both? Stop hating the game without having even seen any footage.

          • TheJuiciest

            It’s definitely a possibility, sure.

          • Indielink

Buying both is a valid option. We are allowed to own multiple tactics games and they DO come out several months apart. Also, you are trying WAY too hard right now to be negative. Seriously, just wait TWO weeks to see what it actually looks like before you keep up the “can’t vomit any more than I have,” comments.

          • ben

I work in design and marketing and this is an absolute faux pas in regards to the image of the Nintendo Switch. This game just does not belong in the carefully crafted image Nintendo had sculpted for the Switch.

          • Tlink7

            1. people can buy both
            2. the games aren’t very similar

I personally am much more interested in this game than in Disgaea. The animoo aesthetic puts me off. At least this is super crazy and original

      • TalesOfBS

        +1 for buying Disgaea instead.

      • Luke WalkingMoonTree

You don’t even know how it plays…

        • ben

I can tell you that it is made by a studio that has never made a Srpg before and that it takes years to make a good one.

          • Luke WalkingMoonTree

But you don’t know how long it has been in development ! Plus rumors say Intelligent Systems helped with development

          • theFooFighter

Jesus you’re such a cry baby

          • ben

Really? Try taking Mario out of the game and tell me truthfully if anything about the game is appealing.. then tell me why.

          • theFooFighter

It’s a turn based rpg so I’m interested but unlike you I’m waiting until I see gameplay before I make s decision

          • Martin Sørensen

They did, they made one for the 3DS

      • Lance Devon

        “Support Disgaea.”

T’hell you on about, son? Why support…. THAT?!

        • ben

Because it is a good game?

          • Addy

Because NISA releases poorly localized and bug filled games?

          • Lance Devon

Since… When? It’s right up there with Rabbids, bro. Check it.

          • Lance Devon

You support Disgaea, you’re basically supporting games like Rabbids.

          • Addy

If I support Fire Emblem, I support Rabbits.

Do you not know what logic even is?

          • Lance Devon

Since when did Fire Emblem get involved in this? I mean, the argument could hold water if we’re talking Fates, but we’re not.

I mean, if we’re going to go overboard, we might as well say buying ARMS supports garbageware.

          • hi v3.0

Fire Emblem is also a SRPG…

          • Lance Devon

So we doing the social justice thing and account for all SRPGs for one’s personal failing?

Man, Mario must suck after Flip’s Twisted World. He’s never going to recover.

          • Lance Devon

Since when did Fire Emblem get involved in this? I mean, the argument could hold water if we’re talking Fates, but we’re not.

I mean, if we’re going to go overboard, we might as well say buying ARMS supports garbageware.

And I am pretty sure this news has broken the Disqus commenting section at NE.

          • ben

I cant see any connection at all between the two games.

          • Lance Devon

When you support Rabbids, you support garbage shovelware. Disgaea is merely part of that shovelware cycle.

          • “shovelware cycle?”
ok you kids need to just stop using words
go back to your let’s play viewing. the fat guy is about to own the skinny guy

          • Lance Devon

            Cool talk.

          • Jaxon Holden

Would love to take your word for it, but after all that nonsense you’ve been saying, and prematurely crucifying this game which you haven’t even seen and hasn’t even been revealed (which is one of the most childish and illogical things a person could do) I don’t think anyone can trust your recommendations for “what’s good”

***for the record though, Disgaea 5 Complete is actually a solid game, but so is Child of Light, Rayman Legends, Splinter Cell Blacklist, and most Ubisoft games, and this crossover has a very good chance of being amazing- JUDGEMENT RESERVED UNTIL I ACTUALLY PLAY IT obviously, because that’s what rational people do

          • ben

LOL seriously are you that much of a fanboy you cant see how bad this game looks just from the documents presented today?

          • Velen (Not WoW)

Are you so stupid that you think you can tell a games merits just by the documents presented?

Seriously. We have no gameplay footage. No actual idea what it looks like, or even what exactly it entails.

          • ben

I can see how it looks. I can see the art style. I can read what they are going for with the stupid selfie taking rabbid. This game is so out of place design wise with what is cool that it could not be worse. The game might be fine but the presentation is terrible. I also highly doubt that a game that looks like this will actually be good.

          • Lance Devon

I would actually like a new RPG from Ubi in the vein of Child of Light, actually.

  • Komasham

Can I just point out it says Turtle SHELVES in the 4th pic.

    • Yup lots of mistakes make me think that at the very least the new pictures are fake. But if they are then the whole thing might be and I would be extremely thankful for that.

      • Phish!
        • While I think the crossover is sadly real these images might not be. And I am just saying I would love for this to be fake because it is so awful.

      • Coonfoot

Or it was poorly translated from another language (French or Japanese).

        • A definite possibility but surely Ubisoft would have gone over them to make sure even if Ubisoft is a terrible company.

      • Tlink7

Maybe the presentation was made by someone whose first language isn’t English? Ubisoft is French after all, notorious for not liking to speak English 😛

        • Like I said it is a possibility but who knows.

  • AJK

This seems pretty fake. Not saying the game isn’t a real thing, but these pics are definitely fake. The wording is really ‘off’

    • ben

Nah man.. it is totally Ubisoft..They are the most KY company in the world.

  • Jay Bern

I like the concept, but it’s the sort of game I need to see in action before I can jump on board with it (provided it’s real, which it’s definitely looking like). I feel like I’m part of a small group that actually likes the Rabbids, but then again, I have a stupid sense of humour.

    • Jaxon Holden

I very much am not fond of Rabbids, BUT I’m extremely fond of Mario and Ubisoft, so despite my lack of interest in Rabbids I’m hopeful and excited for what this game could bring, especially as a wild and wacky RPG

  • TalesOfBS

So this are Ubisoft’s “Big Plans” for the Switch? Lol And fanboys believing they were going to get Far Cry or anything like that.

Another generation of Just Dance and shovelware.

    • Jaxon Holden

??? Who thought Far Cry was coming? I haven’t seen a single “fanboy” saying any such thing. Most people have been completely realistic. Meaning 3DS-like support. Lots of games, just not the same gritty western games that sell on other consoles.

Another generation of scores of great 1st party exclusives and tons of great 3rd party ports, particularly from Japanese devs. In 2 months we already know of Disgaea 5, Shin Megami Tensei V, Dragon Quest XI, Fate Extella, DQ Heroes 1/2, I Am Setsuna, pretty much all Tecmo Koei’s games, and plenty more. That’s more than Wii U got in five entire years. And Atlus alone will stack this console sky high with their catalog in due time.

Seems there’s actually little to no shovelware actually. A distinct lack of it.

      • Jay Bern

He’s pretty much just looking for an excuse to be a jerk.

    • Tlink7

You can call this game a lot of things, but it ain’t shovelware. Also only delusional people would expect something like Far Cry to come to the Switch lol

      • ben

        This is exactly shovelware.

        • Tlink7

No. It isn’t mass-produced garbage with no effort put into it. So it isn’t shovelware

      • TalesOfBS

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure? 3 months after launch and already at this stage? lol
God forbid those crazy deluded customers who bought a Switch expecting decent support after watching this, then likely they will be waiting for Skyrim forever…

        • Tlink7

If you buy a Nintendo console expecting all the gritty third-party titles, then you’re (sadly) an idiot

          • TalesOfBS

This is not even a case of all them, it is none of them now. 4 Months after release.
What happened to the hype, competitive stuff and taking gaming serious marketing bs? Did you just confirm Nintendo again lied to everybody?

          • Tlink7

I have no idea nor do I care; I never told anybody Nintendo would have all the third-party support

  • Bruno_Ostara

“The goal of Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle was to be a surprise announcement at E3 that came out shortly after the announcement” – This made me laugh so much HAHAHAHAH At least they can still launch shortly after E3 but i don’t think this is a surprise since january or something

  • masterjedi

Been hearing rumors of this for weeks. It is a strange concept for sure. E3 will definitely have to sell me on it but I’m willing to give it a look.

  • NintendoPSXTheSecond
    • Addy

And here comes the Jojo memes.

    • AwesomeAussie27

      Muda muda muda muda muda!

  • Ninty Kad

WE HAVEN’T SEEN GAMEPLAY, GUYS. It ain’t that bad, calm down.

  • Tlozbj

    Turtle Shelves?
    PersoNNalities?
Releases in August/September yet, it haven’t been rated?
Badly centered Switch unit in last image?

    Umm yeeeah, something is fishy

    • AJK

Absolutely. If this is real, Ubisoft have fallen on hard times and can’t afford a proper design team 🙂

    • Coonfoot

It’s either fake or poorly translated.

      • Tlozbj

Translation doesn’t dismiss the two latter points , though. Aside, that how you mess up translation lile that? I can understand a accidental extra N in personality when passing it, but there is no excuse for “Turtle shelves”

    • Tlink7

This obviously wasn’t meant for the press or the public to see. Ye average guy isn’t a perfect English writer/speaker

  • Hack

Those are clearly images from a development internal conference, hence the little mistakes, but it’s not fake at all.

  • Chaos_Knight

    “Badass Princess”

Okay, I know Nintendo isn’t very keen on using vulgar language in their games unless it’s Fire Emblem or Xenoblade, but MARIO?

    • ronin4life

If Ubi is publishing that would be your answer

  • Snackster1001

It could be good…..maybe? This is just a weird crossover and I honestly don’t know if I care enough to play it. There’s no way this is fake with art like that, too much effort and rumors lol

    • Lance Devon

In all seriousness; This game can be, but people will see Rabbids and immediately dismiss anything good in it as garbage.

  • Snackster1001

What I can say about this is that I’ve never seen Peach referred to as a “badass”. Such edge

  • Coonfoot

Some parts of this sound badly translated (“Turtle Shelves”?!), but it otherwise feels legit.

  • Puffdaddy

    THIS. LOOK. DOOPE!!!

  • ジョシュ

So it was supposed to be a surprise….. oh well….it definitely wont be a surprise now.

  • timZ117

Ehh did you guys see that boxart? This better be totally fake, or nintendo does just doesnt care for their characters anymore..

  • Addy

    Peach is not bada-

    -comment deleted-

    Oh, come on!

  • Juan Pablo Vazquez Guardati

is that a swearword i see? Peach I love you

  • Ninty Kad

Will Ubisoft make Peach like she is in the comics? I’d be down for that.

  • SortableShelf19

“Mario and company can use guns for the first time.”

    Smash Bros.?

  • Jag Gentlemann

I think this is going to be something like XCOM (tactical combat, having cover, everybody using weapons.)

  • ben

Take Mario out of the game and would any of you even look at this game?

  • Velen (Not WoW)

The hateboners on this page are hilarious. No matter where I go it’s more people just having hateboners and hatebarfing fests. It’s truly amusing.

    • ben

It looks terrible. There is nothing shocking about the negative fallout.

      • Velen (Not WoW)

My basic reaction to everyone judging it just because of the Rabbids. It’s incredibly stupid.

        • ben

Take Mario out and what are we left with? A twenty hour casual rpg.

          • Indielink

You know what JRPG was only about 20 hours and managed to be pretty rad? The Last Story.

          • ben

Yeah, because a Japanese Jrpg is exactly the same as a rabbids game.. please.

          • Velen (Not WoW)

I direct you to my previous response for this one.

          • ben

Your reply is missing the point of what is wrong with this game already. It looks bad from the artwork. You cant fix that . A game can be good and have average art but this has bad art.

  • Tlink7

I love how corporate presentation-y the slides are xD

  • Tlink7

Kinda sad everyone is just writing it off without having seen footage or played the game. What happened to proper judgement? Don’t write it off before you’ve had a chance to actually review the title

  • Khaaaaan

Cool! Looking forward to see the game

  • O.H. X-1990

Well, that’s it, Mario is ruined. The Rabbids just killed the entire Mario franchise! And to all who actually like that retarded idea? You can all go to hell, bunch of Rabbid-loving scums!

    • Ninty Kad

      Bit much, don’t you think…

      • O.H. X-1990

No, this is reality, those Rabbids that no one gives a crap about just killed the entire Mario franchise! If Rayman was in rather than those Rabbids, then I would’ve love that idea. But nope, Ubisoft made a grave mistake adding those annoying Rabbids. What a ripoff!

        • Ninty Kad

I’ll be honest, I would have LOVED if this was a Mario X Rayman game. But I’m fine with this, an XCOM type game with Mario character does sound fun. Plus I love the artwork, so cartoony and expressive. It also help that I don’t hate the Rabbids like everyone else does. And again, once I see the gameplay then people can say if the game is truly garbage or not.

  • ronin4life

    Lol cute.

Yoshi rocking the bazooka is legendary

    • Indielink

Dude that’s what I’m saying. Even if it’s a fairly mediocre game I’ll pick it up for the sheer comedy of the premise.

  • Ser2k2
    • ronin4life

      Is that rabbit… poking it’s a$$ out?
      O_o

      • AwesomeAussie27

        Welcome to Ubisoft.

Where even the Rabbid comics had a joke about topless women getting “censored” by a Rabbid vacuuming the fourth wall.

  • Melatelo

Still kinda in disbelief that Nintendo would let Ubisoft not only publish, but to use their most beloved IP, and crossing it over with of all franchises- Rabbids. I’ll take a new zany Mario game any day but why this. Just hearing a rabbid scream is enough to turn me off. Will have to wait and see the reveal at e3, but seeing all this leaked stuff doesn’t make me any more interested.

    • ronin4life

On a more serious note compared to what I have posted already, the game sounds lacking. 4 “worlds” at ~20 hours and a handful of bosses in a SRPG?

      Hrmm. Just feels kinda light

      • Saki Okuda

It fits in with the length of other Mario RPGs. They often tend to be 20-30 hour long games. So, 20 hours doesn’t seem bad when compared to other Mario RPG titles.

        • ronin4life

Maybe. It’s the “world” and boss-enemy counts that I am most concerned about. Just feels at least a tad too light to me for a SRPG.

  • Saki Okuda

That Donkey Kong Rabbid on the boxart is horrifying.

  • Reggie

Thanks, I needed the good laugh.

  • ben

I really can`t believe how well Nintendo have controlled the image of the Switch.
They have carefully chosen when games will release. The types of games they want to appear and the image of a new Nintendo has emerged. A Nintendo that understands that it needs to add new intellectual properties that appeal to a new generation of gamers.
They have nailed everything to make the switch the choice for young teens to adult gamers… And then some idiot approved a Mario Rabbids crossover and that this game is going to grab headlines now as a Switch game… Well it could kill momentum and change the way the Switch is considered. This was a terrible decision and honestly if I was Nintendo I would cancel this game now. Image of the Switch is far more important than releasing this game.

  • Hidden Flare

I’ll just say Im iffy on the rabbits but the mario characters look cool, love peach and the gun, make fanart with that, just go wild with the idea. I still am unsure what the gameplay is. I’ll just wait undless they want to leak a gameplay trailer, story trailer, launch trailer, awards trailer, let’s plays, music, the entire game in general…. WHOSE RESPONASBILE FOR THE LEAKS WITH THIS GAME!! (personally have to think ubisoft, I don’t think nintendo had it this bad with a game being leaked this bad).

  • Honestly…perhaps I’m the weird one here, but I’m mostly just concerned on how the game will effect the typical “squeaky clean” nature of Mario. I’ll admit that I don’t know much about the Rabbids, but I feel like they’re a little more “perverse(?)” then Mario, I don’t know, and I worry if that’ll effect or be shown to a great extent within the Mario world and on the Mario characters.

Other then that though, I think the game looks fine as it is, and I think having it alongside Mario Odyssey, Sonic Mania, and Sonic Forces, will make the switch a must have for a lot of people, kids especially. I just genuinely hope that this isn’t a huge part of Nintendo’s E3, and that the rest of their E3 doesn’t leak as well.

    • ben

I would not call Mario Odyssey or Sonic Mania kids games. Not in the same way Rabbids is a kids game… actually my kids said the Rabbids looked terrible so I have no idea who this game is for..

    • Reggie

I think it’s possible that the bad*** part would be removed when the actual game is revealed. I really cannot see Nintendo otherwise allowing that.

Unless this is all some elaborate hoax, in which case, big kudos to whoever did this. Looks very real.

      • I’m sure it will. These were only meant to be kept internal.

        • Reggie

          Exactly. Probably just placeholders.

      • I see that being removed as well, and honestly I imagine that it’s only there solely because of Ubi and not Nintendo, but I, in general, just feel like the Rabbids are more violent then anything in Mario…maybe? I don’t know, I just feel like they’re not in the exact same league.

        • Locky Mavo

Rabbids violent? I see it more as Rabbids having a more Looney Tunes feel, to Nintendo’s more Disney feel.

          • Violent, as in cartoon violence, not like gore or anything. I just feel like the two are a little off in that area.

        • Reggie

Eh. Nintendo’s pretty protective of their IP, at least a lot more now since the 80’s. They would supervise the entire project. I admit to not ever playing a Rabbids game, but I imagine they would be more wacky and less vulgar in this.

  • ben

Ahh. I just heard this info is all from a year ago. I feel happy now that this has probably been cancelled.

    • Fore

Do you, happen to have a source for that?

      • ben

These images are the exact images that were seen by Eurogamer in September last year. Since we have not seen this game at any Direct I feel like this sort of makes me hope that this game is cancelled.

    • Kenshin0011

      Eh?

    • Locky Mavo

      Cancelled? Highly unlikely.

  • SpectralDynamite

I saw that this had over 200 comments already and I knew someone had to trolling or otherwise dicking around in here.

With like 80% of the comments being this ben guy complaining, I see my hunch was correct.

    • ben

I am a massive Nintendo fan. I just cant handle how bad this looks.

  • Locky Mavo

So what happened to the “no spoilers”? And you can’t say “you didn’t have to click”, not this time, not with the “leaked images” plastered on the front page (if this really is legit).

That being said, judging by image alone, it looks like it has potential to a good game, I’ll have to check out who Milan is. But I guess where getting to that time again where we got to avoid every gaming site till E3, less we have everything spoiled.

    • Kenshin0011

      Promotional imagery are not spoilers.

      • Locky Mavo

        Leaked images are though.

        • Kenshin0011

          Not really, it’s just news.

          • shaw98

Everything is news. If one can spoil it is the question.

          • Locky Mavo

Leaked news, something that spoils the official announcement.

  • shaw98

Wrong, Mario’s first time using a gun was in Yoshi’s safari both in game and by the player that used the super scope. https://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/n-pktq5q/ymgqt/product_images/uploaded_images/ysshootem.jpg

  • shaw98

I still wait for a year that will top E3 2014.

  • Rhinopotamus

Turtle Shelves…… Shelves…. SHELVES?!?!? I mean… I expect some errors in translating from French or Italian to English, but not something like this. I get that Shells is close in spelling to Shelves in English, but not in the native languages of French/Italian. This smells like an elaborate hoax. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/b0f542b44066d32747fcb56b8423bb29515188c6022c27a3ca4de843de28f219.jpg

Images could indeed be fake, but don’t expect everyone on this planet to speak flawless English. ”shelves” and ”shells” is extremely similar in pronunciation

    • O.H. X-1990

Was that you, throwing out your Switch? That’s pretty weak. Also, nope, I’m keeping the Switch, I just wouldn’t dare buy that Mario game that’s as worse as “Mario is Missing”.

Good to see Yoshi playable over Toad for once. Why is Peach’s torso so short though?

Also I never thought I’d see swearing on something official with Mario, lol.

    • Tlink7

Yeah, Toad is getting a bit overused, glad to see Yoshi again <3
I guess the devs wanted Peach' proportions to be in-line with the other Mario characters

      Swearing? :O

      • MagcargoMan

Yeah, but even in Super Mario 3D World where she’s shorter it doesn’t look as weird as this does.

        They said Peach was “badass”.

        • Tlink7

Maybe Ubi meant that literally and Peach’ behind has collapsed and that’s why she’s shorter

          • MagcargoMan
