There’s been a lot of news about the NES Mini over the past day or so. The western version received a proper blowout after members of the media had some hands-on time, and a Famicom equivalent was announced for Japan. Speaking of the Nintendo Classic Mini: Famicom version, we actually have more news on that front.

First, here are some additional photos:

The Japanese Nintendo Classic Mini: Famicom website is located here. On it, Nintendo posted various specs of the hardware. We’ve translated it all below.

– The size is about 60 percent that of the original Famicom, while still retaining the original design.

– Length: 50.45mm
– Width: 108.12mm
– Depth: 142.47mm
(The above 3 sizes are when the controllers are attached to the console)

– Weight: approximately 229 grams (including controller)
– Input/Output Terminals: HDMI, USB (micro-B)
– Usable Power Supply: Either a market USB-compatible adapter (5V/1.0A/5W), or a USB slot in TV or PC (compatibility may vary)
– Video output: 720p, 480p
– Audio output: Linear PCM2CH output from HDMI terminal

– Console: Power switch, Reset button
– Controller: Directional buttons, A & B buttons, Start & Select buttons
(The controller doesn’t have a mic input)

One final interesting note: the Nintendo Classic Mini: Famicom will come with a My Nintendo ticket. Does that mean we’ll finally be able to register hardware on the site before the year ends?
